  • Publication number: 20210408775
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for a trim cover for electrical junction boxes. In one aspect a trim cover kit for installing electrical junction boxes to framing of a wall is disclosed. The kit includes an electrical junction box, an electrical outlet or switch with wiring and terminal screws, and a trim cover having an interior surface, an exterior surface, a distal border capable of covering the opening in the wall structure, and a proximal border with an opening for the electrical outlet. The trim cover further includes interior flashing on the sides of the proximal border to secure the trim cover within a wall structure, as well as to provide a thermal barrier, and to protect against contact with the terminal screws. The trim cover further includes one or more alignment fastener points and/or retaining screw guides for fastening the trim cover to the electrical junction box.

  • Patent number: 5201672
Abstract: An apparatus for protecting a substrate includes a collapsible reservoir filled with a three-dimensional elastic gel which is relatively soft and has an ultimate elongation of at elast 200%. The apparatus is disposed in contact with a substrate having a recess therein to be environmentally protected, and a force is applied to the reservoir to at least partially collapse the reservoir forcing the gel from an open surface of the reservoir into the recess so as to substantially fill and encapsulate the recess.

  • Patent number: 4769513
Abstract: There is disclosed a cable closure which includes a central closure body and a pair of end caps preferably made from structural foam situated at each end of the closure body. There is also disclosed a cable block which includes void filling material selectively inserted among the insulated conductors of the cable and a directional control device which consists of a conduit also selectively inserted among the insulated conductors of the cable. Together the cable closure, cable block and directional control device make up the splice closure system. There may also be provided a heat recoverable seal adhesively attached to the cable closure in which case there will also be provided means for preventing milk-off of the seal from the cable closure. finally, there is disclosed a method for forming the cable block.

  • Patent number: 4648919
Abstract: A splice between two multiconductor cables is protected from ingress of water by a closure which is filled with a sealant which is pressurized by a bladder inside the closure to a pressure sufficient to force the sealant into the interstices of the splice and the interstices between the conductors in the cable, and the pressure is maintained by the bladder until the sealant cures or hardens.
