    Abstract: A syringe includes a barrel having a distal end, a proximal end, and a sidewall extending therebetween along a longitudinal axis. At least one engagement member protrudes from a terminal portion of the sidewall in a proximal direction along the longitudinal axis. The at least one engagement member tapers axially in a direction from the distal end toward the proximal end. The at least one engagement member is configured for engagement with a locking mechanism of a fluid injector to releasably lock the syringe with the fluid injector. A taper of the at least one engagement member is configured to rotationally guide the syringe into alignment with the locking mechanism and axially eject the syringe upon rotation of the syringe. The locking mechanism operatively engages the at least one engagement member regardless of an orientation of the syringe about the longitudinal axis relative to the injector.

    Abstract: A stop block system for locking hydraulic cylinders is provided. The stop block system includes a plurality of axially adjacent layers that are arranged co-axially. The layers include a top layer having a bearing surface for receiving a load, one or more spacer rings for adjusting the height of the stop block system and transferring the load from the top layer to a base layer and a base layer for centering the stop block system and transferring the load from the spacer rings to a surface on which the stop block system rests. Each annular layer may be made up of two or more annular c-shaped components. The two or more components of one layer may be rotationally offset from the two or more components of axially adjacent layers.

    Abstract: We introduce a novel high average power (>100 mW) fiber optic source, using a wavelength converter based on optical parametric amplification in a nonlinear fiber. In the most fundamental embodiment, light at two different wavelengths is used to generate light at a third wavelength through optical parametric amplification in a highly non-linear fiber. The method provides high average output power at wavelengths that are not accessible by other means. The source has high optical conversion efficiency (>20%), and it can be tuned over tens of nanometers.
