  • Patent number: 9378292
Abstract: A system and method for generating an object request comprising an absolute address from a relative address in a system comprising a plurality of editions of components for processing said object, said object request being generated by a request building component is described. To generate the object request, an edition of a component associated with processing the object is determined. The component edition is used to determine a specified address which is used in constructing the absolute address of the generated object request.

  • Publication number: 20070130180
Abstract: Transformations are provided for transforming a metadata model that contains model objects. The metadata model has a multiple layers including a lower layer containing one or more lower abstraction model objects having a lower abstraction level and a higher layer containing one or more higher abstraction model objects having a higher abstraction level. The transformations transform the model objects from the lower layer to the higher layer.

  • Patent number: 5621662
Abstract: A home automation system comprises a number of sub-systems for controlling various aspects of a house, such as a security sub-system, an HVAC sub-system, a lighting control sub-system, and an entertainment sub-system. The network comprises a host computer connected through a host interface to a plurality of nodes. The network is in a free form topology and employ asynchronous communication. The host computer polls each node on the network to determine system configuration and to perform a diagnostic check on the system. The messages that are transmitted between the nodes are comprised of a source address, a destination address that uniquely identifies the location of each piece of hardware on the system, a message type field, and a data length segment. Each hardware device has a mirror image software object in the host computer to which messages are directed. The user interfaces for the various sub-systems share a common interfacing method whereby use of the system is greatly simplified.

  • Patent number: 4348923
Abstract: A plurality of frozen fish columns having a rectangular cross section are contained in a corresponding number of transversely aligned and laterally spaced tubes constituting a magazine. The lower ends of the columns rest on pushers which are slidable on a number of plastic anvils or blocks comprising part of a vertically adjustable table assembly. A single-edge blade is advanced and retracted at a 30.degree. angle through the lower ends of the frozen columns to sever portions therefrom having a thickness determined by the vertical adjustment of the table assembly. Pushers, which are synchronized with the blade movement, shove the severed portions from the cutting station beneath the lower ends of the tubes onto a conveyor. By controlling the speed of the conveyor the various severed portions, while still uniformly oriented, are transferred in an appropriately spaced end-to-end relationship to another location for processing.

  • Patent number: 4276795
Abstract: A number of pairs of frozen fish slabs are arranged vertically in an equal number of laterally spaced vertical tubes or chutes constituting a magazine, each tube or chute having a partition dividing it into two open-ended compartments with a slab being slidably contained in each compartment. A cutter assembly comprising a blade carrier and a vertically adjustable table move as a unit at an acute angle beneath the magazine. The carrier has fixedly mounted at another acute angle thereon a plurality of flat blades equal in number to the number of tubes or chutes, each blade having a knife edge extending along opposite sides thereof so that when the cutter assembly is advanced in one direction the lower end of one of the slabs of each pair of slabs is severed and when retracted the lower end of the other of the slabs of each pair is severed to form individual fish sticks having a thickness determined by the distance the table is spaced below the plane in which the blades move.

  • Patent number: 4173823
Abstract: In the fabrication of a resistance heater for a carton for packaging a pizza, an aluminum metallized sheet is adhered to a paperboard panel, a generally U-shaped strip of arc-sprayed zinc is applied to three edge portions of the upwardly facing electrically conductive metal layer of the metallized sheet, the interconnecting portion of the U-shaped strip and the immediately underlying metal layer are severed, and the metal layer is severed along a line extending adjacent the same interconnecting portion to the side thereof enclosed by the U-shaped strip, so that each of the severed sections of the interconnecting portion serves as a terminal for a corresponding leg portion of the U-shaped strip comprising the electrodes for the intermediate region of the metallized sheet.

  • Patent number: 4134004
Abstract: A paperboard carton for packaging a pizza is provided with a substantially rigid, pizza-supporting electrical-resistance heater insert comprising a corrugated paperboard panel having laminated thereto a sheet of vacuum-metallized glassine. Arc-sprayed zinc bus bars extend over opposed edges of the metallized sheet and serve as electrodes for conducting electricity through the sheet as the resistor element. Electrical energy is supplied to the electrodes by a removable terminal clip that extends through an opening provided in a side wall of the carton and both electrically and mechanically engages suitably presented electrode terminals. An insulating sheet of coated paper extends over the metallized surface, the electrodes, and the bus bars, and serves as the immediate support surface for the pizza.
