    Abstract: Sterile interconnection between disassociated segments of thermostable, compressible fluid conduit tubing is achieved by arranging within the bore of the free end of each segment a conductive hollow metal tube so as to establish a connected fluid flow path from one segment to the other, through the metal tube, and then sterilizing the connection by induction heating.

    Abstract: A process is provided for manufacturing nonwoven, nonbiodegradable tissue ingrowth-inducing, tissue-interfacing substrates with predetermined oriented uniform pore diameter, pore density and pore depth. Pins are inserted to a predetermined depth into a softened thermoplastic substrate or, heated pins are inserted into the substrate, then removed to form the predetermined pore pattern.
