  • Publication number: 20240061807
Abstract: Redistribution of files in a containerized distributed file system is disclosed. Containers each have an engine and a scanner and each of the containers stores files and parameters for characteristics of files stored on the container. A first engine in a first container monitors characteristics of files stored on the first container and, responsive to determining that the parameters for files on the first container exceed one or more predetermined thresholds, communicates with a second engine in a second container to determine a destination container for one or more files from the first container. The second engine in the second container indicates to the first engine in the first container whether the second container is available to receive one or more files from the first container. The first engine triggers file system scanning by the scanner of the first container to identify files to be moved to the second container.

  • Publication number: 20240064198
Abstract: Redistribution of files in a containerized distributed file system is disclosed. An indication of at least one remote container to which files from the local container are to be transferred is received from a rebalancing engine in the local container. One or more transfer parameters for use in selecting one or more files in the local container to be transferred the at least one remote container are received from the rebalancing engine. The local container is scanned to identify files that satisfy the one or more transfer parameters. An indication of the identified files to a file transfer mechanism is provided. Operation of the scanner is terminate until triggered in response to a query by the engine of the local container or for a predetermined period of time.

  • Patent number: 10368860
Abstract: A surgical fastener for anchoring medical devices to tissue includes first and second legs lying in a first plane, and third and fourth legs lying in a second plane that is orthogonal with the first plane. A bridge interconnects proximal ends of the four legs for forming a closed end of the surgical fastener. Each leg has a proximal end, a distal end, and an insertion tip with a distal point located at the distal end of the leg. Each leg has an insertion tool alignment guide that extends between the proximal and distal ends of the leg and along a longitudinal axis that is aligned with the distal point of the insertion tip.

  • Patent number: 10278703
Abstract: The present invention relates to circular anastomosis stapler and kits comprising reinforcing buttress materials and fixation tools that are slidably installed on the anvil shaft of such staplers which provides a temporary mechanical fixation of a reinforcing buttress to the anvil surface of a circular stapler during the insertion of the anvil into the tubular tissue. When the anvil, loaded with the buttress, is in the desired location, the fixation tool is pulled back along the anvil shaft and removed. The shaft is then connected to the stapling head and the stapling is performed. The present invention also relates to methods for using the kits and devices therein.

  • Patent number: 4448185
Abstract: The door handle of a heating unit is cooled by providing a duct traversing the interior of the handle from exterior of the firebox of the heating unit to the interior of the firebox. The induced flow cools the handle and provides cool air in the firebox to trap and maintain the hot gasses closer to the fire for a more complete combustion. An open, ellipsoid, spiral coil surrounds the grip of the handle.

  • Patent number: 4301783
Abstract: A forced air heating unit having a first U-shaped air channel with inlet vents adjacent the front, and a second U-shaped forced air channel interior said first forced air channel communicating with the first forced air channel via an opening in the common rear wall and having exit vents adjacent the front. A fan is mounted to the rear wall having the motor exterior the forced air channels with an impeller in the common rear wall opening. A conical deflector extends from the interior wall of the second forced air channel towards said rear wall opening. A refractory floor in the firebox includes front, side and rear vertical portions with top surfaces inclined towards the respective wall. The rear and side vertical portions exceed the height of a grate or andirons positioned on the refractory floor.

  • Patent number: 4113586
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for the recovery of metal values from an electrolyte in an electrodeposition or electrowinning cell are disclosed. A bottom baffle assembly supporting a plurality of bubble tubes and alignment devices is urged upward from the bottom of the electrolytic cell. An electrode assembly, having alignment means which cooperate with the alignment devices on the bottom baffle assembly, engages and aligns with the bottom baffle assembly when the electrode assembly is lowered into the electrolyte. Thereby, the bubble tubes are aligned to provide sheets of bubbles between the anode and cathode faces. The invention also features methods and apparatus for separating the electrodes, after the electrodeposition or electrowinning process, by pulling them apart in the horizontal direction to minimize the chance of damage to the electrodes.
