  • Patent number: 7217343
Abstract: A compact, energy efficient, continuous-flow point of use distillation system utilizes stacked, vertically-arranged components to provide a compact and energy efficient distillation process and a device which is quick and easy to service and maintain. A housing contains a double-walled boiler vessel to which water is supplied from an external source through suitable filters. A heating source is provided to boil water in the vessel, producing steam which is supplied through a condenser to a storage container located below the boiler. A noninvasive liquid level sensor maintains the water level in the boiler and the controller is provided to activate the boiler when water is required for the storage reservoir.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6290819
Abstract: A continuous-flow water distiller includes a housing having a removable heating vessel which receives water to be distilled A heater is immersed within the water in the vessel for producing steam. The housing includes an openable lid which, when closed, seals the heating vessel so that steam can be directed through an outlet into a condenser located in the housing. Raw water is supplied to the heating vessel through a heat exchanger to preheat the raw water by effectively utilizing thermal energy recovery to initiate cooling of the steam, and distillate is supplied through the condenser to enhance heat exchange.

  • Patent number: 5951825
Abstract: A portable distiller convertible between an operating mode and a storage mode which permits easy transport includes a boiler vessel, a condenser, and a collection container. The condenser is mounted on a two-way lid which engages the top of the boiler in an operating mode to support the condenser over the boiler. The lid is insulated to prevent the transfer of heat from the boiler to the condenser. The lid is reversible to allow the condenser to be inserted into the boiler vessel for storage. The container may also be stored in the boiler, and preferably receives the condenser for storage.

  • Patent number: 5918967
Abstract: Decorative lamp casings and lamp bulb envelopes create a desired effect, such as an icicle effect. The lamp casings comprise a single element or component shaped like an icicle that is capable of being slid over a lamp bulb and secured to the outer surface of the existing lamp bulb, lamp socket or lamp assembly. The lamp bulb envelope comprises a conventional electrical lamp base wherein the lamp bulb envelope is in the shape of an icicle. The icicle effect is enhanced by simulated frozen water runs on the outer surface of the casing or envelope.
