  • Patent number: 4289370
Abstract: An electrical connector junction means for flat conductor cable lying along a floor. The electrical connector junction means includes a base having a substantially flat supporting surface for mounting of the base on the floor and having an opening therethrough for receiving through the opening a flat conductor cable when the base is mounted to the floor overlying the flat conductor cable. A support member is secured to the base and includes at least one mounting surface thereon. A fastener is provided for fastening the conductor of the flat conductor cable and a second conductor to the mounting surface. In a preferred embodiment, the second conductor comprises a conventional round conductor wire and the flat conductor cable includes a suitable terminal connector, both of which are sandwiched between the mounting surface and the head of the fastener.

  • Patent number: 4270833
Abstract: A reinforced electrical connector junction means for flat conductor cable lying along a floor. The electrical connector junction means includes a base having a substantially flat support surface for mounting of the base on the floor adjacent a flat conductor cable and a housing for the base having an upper wall and depending side walls defining an interior space above the base for receiving the flat conductor cable and a second conductor for electrical connection together. An upstanding reinforcing supporting member is affixed to the base and extends upwardly thereabove. The reinforcing supporting member includes an upper supporting surface for supporting the upper wall of the housing when the housing is positioned over the base and the supporting member.

  • Patent number: 4256359
Abstract: A terminal connector for flat cables. The connector comprises a bendable member for bending along a bending line which divides the bendable member into first and second arm portions separated from one another by the bending line. The first arm portion includes a male die member thereon extending away from the surface thereof, and the second arm portion includes a die opening for receiving the male die member when the bendable member is bent along the bending line to move the first and second arm portions toward one another into a closed connecting position.

  • Patent number: 4082411
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a terminal member and a contact element, the terminal member having separable parts each providing a surface for retaining the contact element, the terminal member providing for predetermined minimum spacing between such retention surfaces. In its preferred embodiments, the connectors are of plug and socket terminal member variety with either the plug or socket having such separable parts with the parts defining respective abutting surfaces providing such predetermined spacing.

  • Patent number: 4082410
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a contact assembly having a cylindrical contact element and a terminal member defining a cylindrical contact element support surface and contact element retention surfaces juxtaposed with the support surface with passages opening into the terminal member and extending through the retention surfaces. Axially facing ends of the retention surfaces have spacing therebetween less than the axial extent of the contact element for retaining the same and axially distal ends of the passages have spacing therebetween exceeding the contact element axial extent to facilitate non-deforming contact element insertion in the terminal member.

  • Patent number: 4050149
Abstract: In making an electrical contact assembly of type having a louvered contact element, a terminal member is formed in first and second separable parts defining respective contact element retention surfaces. The contact element is formed into cylindrical configuration and is applied to the first terminal member part with one contact finger set thereof engaging the same, and is advanced into engagement with the retention surface thereof while common force is applied to the other contact finger set. The second terminal member part is then secured to the first part with the contact element engaging its retention surface. Assembly tools facilitate such common force application to the contact element.
