Patent number: 11821151Abstract: When spreading aggregate material onto a layer of bitumen/wet bitumen, when forming a road surface, the aggregate is commonly spread from a truck in reverse, potentially causing accidents and injuries. Safety is improved by providing a spreading vehicle that can be driven in the direction in which it is spreading the aggregate material. This is achieved by providing a second driving cab and driver controls at a location that would normally be considered the rearward end of the vehicle. The second driver cab is above a conveyor system conveying aggregate material from a hopper of the vehicle to a spreader box. The second driver cab allows the vehicle to be driven in the direction it is spreading material, by a driver who is facing the direction of travel, and who can see if the vehicle is about to hit anything or run into a worker in the surrounding area.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2020Date of Patent: November 21, 2023Assignee: QFE HOLDINGS PTY. LTD.Inventors: Graham Laycock, Glenn Francis Hardiman, David Redfern Taylor

Patent number: 9775917Abstract: Described herein are compositions in nanofiber form including one or more bioactive compounds releasably incorporated thereon. In one embodiment a composition is described comprising at least one nanofiber and at least one bioactive compound. The nanofibers are formed from a base material that is solubilized with the bioactive or bioactives in an aqueous based solvent solution and the base material and bioactives are together spun via electrospinning to form dry fibers with the bioactives chemically bonded to the nanofibers and the bioactives remaining stable during storage of the composition under ambient conditions substantially free of moisture. On exposure to moisture, the nanofibers dissolve, thereby releasing the bioactives.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2014Date of Patent: October 3, 2017Assignee: Active Fibres LimitedInventors: Glenn Francis Vile, Iain Cameron Hosie, Simon Vaughan Feasey

Patent number: 8735740Abstract: A method and apparatus for filling a via with transparent material is presented, including the steps of providing a panel having a via, occluding the via with transparent material in a workable state so that a portion of the occluding material is internal to the via and a portion of the material is external to said via. The external and internal portions are separated so the transparent filler material, when set, forms a smooth and featureless surface. This causes the filled via to have a substantially even and uniform appearance over a wide range of viewing angles when lit.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2011Date of Patent: May 27, 2014Assignee: Electro Scientific Industries, Inc.Inventors: Glenn Francis Simenson, William Antoni, Steve Cohen, Jeffrey Howerton
