  • Patent number: 4425071
Abstract: Material handling apparatus for a trailer having opposed sidewalls is disclosed in the application. Support brackets are positioned on the opposed sidewalls of the trailer. A frame is moveably positioned on the support brackets. The frame is capable of moving said support brackets in a direction that is substantially parallel to the sidewalls of the trailer. A lifting frame is moveably positioned on the frame. A hoist is positioned on the lifting frame and the hoist is capable of moving in a direction substantially parallel to and substantially perpendicular to the opposed sidewalls of the trailer. The hoist is capable of lifting objects that are to be transported in the trailer whereby said objects are lifted and said lifting frame, hoist and frame can be moved with respect to said trailer for loading and unloading the objects.

  • Patent number: 4418953
Abstract: A meterial handler is disclosed in the disclosure. The material handler has a first member and said first member has means for supporting a load. A second member is slideably positioned on the first member and the second member has means for supporting a load. A biasing means is attached to the first and second member. The biasing means acts to maintain the second member in a predetermined position with respect to the first member. Means for lifting the material handler is provided. The lifting means is connected to the second member and slideably connected to the first member. The lifting means is positioned to exert a force on the second member to cause the second member to slide with respect to the first member whereby the position of the support means on the second member will move with respect to the support means of the first member to accommodate various size loads being handled by the material handler.

  • Patent number: 4406338
Abstract: A scale testing cart for transporting and positioning weights to effect the calibration of a platform scale is disclosed. The cart includes a frame with two opposed wheels located at one end of the frame. A rotatable driven wheel is located at the opposite end of the frame for steering and driving said cart. A hydraulically operated lifting hook is provided on the frame for engaging and lifting said scale testing weights.

  • Patent number: 4383711
Abstract: The invention is directed to a support frame for a trailer having opposed side walls. At least one channel is positioned on the opposed side walls of the trailer. A substantially L-shaped bracket having a first leg and a second leg is secured to the channel. The first leg of the bracket extends over and engages the channel and the second leg of the bracket extends along the surface of the channel. A support surface is attached to the second leg of the bracket and the support surface extends from the surface of the second leg in a direction that is substantially perpendicular to the surface of the second leg. The support surface is disposed in the trailer for supporting loading structure between the opposed side walls of the trailer.

  • Patent number: 4347904
Abstract: An improved scale testing cart for selectively positioning scale calibration weights on platform scales is disclosed. The scale testing cart has a weight bed for retaining selected calibration weights and has a tubular frame adjacent one end of the weight bed which is adapted for holding a fluid. A first pair of wheels is attached to the weight bed at a position adjacent the tubular frame and a second pair of wheels is attached at the end of the weight bed which is opposed to the tubular frame. A hollow member is positioned between the second set of wheels and is adapted to retain ballast. A lift bar for engaging a lifting apparatus is positioned substantially at the weight center-line of the cart. Located adjacent the tubular frame is a drive means which generally includes a drive engine, gas tank, and hydraulic drive pump for propelling the cart.

  • Patent number: 4297071
Abstract: A weight handling vehicle having a rear cargo compartment with a bed and side walls. A frame adjacent the sidewalls supports a carriage that moves horizontally along the top of the frame and telescopes out the rearward end of the vehicle. A trolley, supporting a hoist for lifting the weight units, moves on the carriage and, when used in tandem with the telescoping carriage, transfers weight units from within the rear cargo compartment to a point exterior of and spaced apart from the rearward end of the cargo compartment.

  • Patent number: 4249633
Abstract: A scale testing cart for transporting and positioning weights to effect the calibration of a platform scale is disclosed. The cart includes a generally rectangular frame having a peripheral rail which retains a plurality of calibrated weight blocks, a front pair of wheels for steering, a rear pair of wheels for driving and braking and a hydraulic pump driven by a gasoline engine which supplies the power to effect the steering, driving and braking of the cart.

  • Patent number: 4211297
Abstract: A weight vehicle apparatus useful for calibrating vehicle scales incorporates a unique pivoted suspension system which uniformly distributes the weight contained in the vehicle apparatus over the surface upon which it rests. The suspension system comprises three axle assemblies: a rearward axle having steerable wheels which is pivoted about the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, a forward axle position having individually driven wheels which are secured to a bogie-like subframe which is transversely pivoted relative to the vehicle and a third axle positioned between the front and rear axles and pivotally secured to the bogie-like subframe for motion about the longitudinal axis of the subframe as well as about the transverse axis of the vehicle apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4048843
Abstract: A scale testing vehicle for use on platform scales, having at least one scale section, is disclosed. The scale testing vehicle includes a chassis which mounts front and rear axle assemblies. A weight bed is mounted on the chassis together with a crane. The weight bed receives a plurality of uniform weight units which may be removed and replaced by the crane from their location on the bed. A pair of lifting cylinders are mounted immediately adjacent and forward the wheels of the rear axle assembly. After the vehicle is driven onto a scale section, the cylinder lifting legs are extended wherein the front of the vehicle is elevated and the entire static load of the vehicle and weight units is applied to the lifting legs and the rear axle assembly, both of which are confined within the periphery of the individual scale section. The known vehicle load is then compared with the load indicated by the scale.
