Abstract: A disposable compost bin for receiving compostable materials, the bin comprised of (i) a container made from a compostable material, the container having a continuous inner surface, a closed bottom portion, a continuous wall defining an open upper portion, and a continuous lid receiving edge on the open upper portion, and (ii) a removable lid having a substantially rectangular shape and a continuous outer edge, the lid insertably placed on the continuous lid receiving edge of the container for sealing the received compostable materials, the removable lid forming a vacuum-like seal when insertably placed on the continuous lid receiving edge.
