  • Publication number: 20230381729
Abstract: A spin contactor is provided for contacting a particulate with a fluid. The spin contactor has a containment section that may contain the particulate, a fluid inlet, and a fluid outlet. The containment section comprises an upper particulate separator, a lower particulate separator, and a conical wall. In most cases, the spin contactor includes a shaft to be operatively coupled to a means for spinning the spin contactor. The fluid is drawn upwardly through the fluid inlet to contact the particulate and then expelled through the fluid outlet. A process of treating a fluid composition is provided by sending the fluid composition through the spin contactor comprising particulates.

  • Patent number: 11692671
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for the storage and dispensing of a sorbable gas. The apparatus includes a storage and dispensing vessel constructed and arranged for containing a solid-phase physical sorbent medium having a sorbable gas adsorbed by said sorbent medium. The dispensing vessel includes a top head having a dispensing valve coupled to the vessel for discharging the sorbable gas therefrom. The dispensing valve is in fluid flow communication with a wick that extends below the upper third of the vessel top head. The wick collects the sorbable gas for discharge of the gas through the dispensing valve.

  • Publication number: 20230038608
Abstract: Functionalized polymer adsorbents for removing impurities from a feed stream comprising an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) include particles of functionalized with at least one functional moiety capable of binding one or more contaminants, the polymer being a macroreticular polymer and the functionalized polymer adsorbents having a pore volume of at least 0.65 cm3/g. Alternatively, the adsorbent can comprise a polymer functionalized with either 2,4,6,-dimercaptotriazine-ethylenedithiol (DMT-EDT) adduct, 2,4,6,-trimercaptotriazine-ethylenedithiol (TMT-EDT) adduct, or a combination thereof, and the polymer can be either a macroreticular polymer or a swellable polymer. The adsorbents can be used in either continuous or batch processes for removing contaminants from an API-containing feed stream wherein the contaminants can include elemental impurities, particularly palladium.

  • Publication number: 20210048148
Abstract: A valve assembly and process are disclosed that permit charging and dispensing gas from a storage vessel through one passage and one nozzle. Only one passage is in communication with the pressurized gas in the storage vessel which focuses safety measures on a single passage. Gas is passed through a single regulator to dispense gas from the storage vessel and to charge the storage vessel. The regulator utilizes a diaphragm which when pressurized by a separate fluid permits passage through the regulator. This separate fluid does not have access to the interior of the storage vessel.
