Abstract: An Armband composed of a stretchable compression, see-through material fabrication incorporates a pocket for receiving a mobile electronic device in an arrangement where the device's display screen is inserted laterally into the pocket along an inside surface of a user's forearm to be easily viewed by a wearer of the device, either along the left inside surface or right inside surface of the forearms by a wearer when grasping a wheel of a motor vehicle, the handlebars of a motorcycle or bicycle, or the reins of a horse.

Abstract: A fault-tolerant method and system for processing global transactions in a distributed database system. If a fault occurs in the distributed database system, a transaction management system will suspend the processing of a transaction and renew it when the fault is remedied. The transaction management system identifies one or more sites in the distributed database system that contain data needed for a global transaction and divides each transaction into subtransactions for processing at one or more identified sites. If a fault occurs in the distributed database system, the transaction management system maintains the status of each subtransaction. When a fault in the distributed database system is corrected, the transaction management system updates the status of each subtransaction and restarts processing of the transactions.

Abstract: Disclosed is a concurrency control method and related system for permitting the correct execution of multiple concurrent transactions, each comprising one or more read and/or write operations, in a heterogeneous distributed database system. Read and write operations are processed at the required sites if no site cycles are detected. If any site cycles are detected in a read operation, then new sites are searched for. If any site cycle is detected for any of the sites for a write operation, then the transaction is aborted.
