  • Patent number: 6623280
Abstract: A connector for effecting a permanent, solderless connection between two printed circuit boards or other devices using plated through via openings is disclosed. The connector body captures pins that project from two surfaces thereof. Each of a plurality of pins presents dual compliant connecting portions, one adjacent each body surface from which the pin projects. The connector body portion may also include bosses adjacent the projecting pins to cause the pin compliant connecting portion to have a predetermined distance of penetration into the cooperating via opening of a connected board or panel and the edge surface of the body can be notched between pin locations to enable an extended length to be partitioned into smaller units. The connector may also be formed with two spaced body portions to effect greater separation between attached boards.

  • Patent number: 6425413
Abstract: A valve (120) for controlling fluid flow therethrough in downhole applications is disclosed. The valve (120) comprises a valve housing having a valve closure mechanism (122) and a valve seat (124) disposed therein. The valve closure mechanism (122) has sealing surface (128) and a secondary load bearing surface (142). The valve seat (124) has a valve seat sealing surface (126) that mates with the sealing surface (128) of the valve closure mechanism (122). The secondary load bearing surface (142) of the valve closure mechanism (122) mates with a valve secondary load bearing surface (134) which may be supported by the valve seat (124).

  • Patent number: 6142829
Abstract: An electrical connector for computer cabling or similar types of cabling wherein data signals are transmitted over the cables is described and illustrated as having a ferrite electro-magnetic interference suppressor element surrounding the conductors of the cable and all of which are enclosed and incorporated within the connector assembly. The enclosure and incorporation of the ferrite suppression element within the connector assembly greatly improves the performance of the ferrite device while, at the same time, permitting the use of space within the connector assemblies which otherwise might be wasted or unused. The incorporation of the ferrite device into the housing permits the placement of the ferrite device at the optimum location for electro-magnetic interference suppression.

  • Patent number: 5772463
Abstract: A connector is shown for an electrical cable which includes a connector body having oppositely disposed outer walls connected by a pair of oppositely arranged end walls. The outer walls and end walls terminate in a rear wall which together define an enclosure including an internal chamber for receiving an electrical connector element. The oppositely disposed outer walls are provided with bevelled front surfaces which extend from a point co-planar with the remaining outer wall surface inwardly with respect to the internal chamber opening, thereby providing greater visibility of any electrical connector element located within the internal chamber to prevent mis-alignment of connector elements during connection operations.

  • Patent number: 5735707
Abstract: An electrical connector having a housing and a swivel member. The housing defines an opening and the swivel member defines a cable passageway. The swivel member is configured so that an electrical cable may be disposed through the cable passageway and the opening. The swivel member is pivotally mounted to the housing such that, when an electrical cable is disposed in the passageway, the cable may pivotally move with respect to the housing.
