  • Patent number: 10391297
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for treating, diagnosing and/or monitoring a patient having a heart, a heart rhythm comprising periodically repeating Q, R, S and T waves of an electrocardiogram and a peripheral vascular system, said electrocardiogram exhibiting a repeating QRSTQ heart rhythm having a Q-T systole duration, a T-Q diastole duration and an R-R path length, said patient having a pulse rate corresponding to said R-R path length, the apparatus comprising a plurality of electrodes attachable externally or internally to the patient for electrically stimulating the patient non-invasively or invasively, in synchronization with the heart rhythm, by trains of pulses applied to the patient, determining, for cycles of the heart rhythm, a time corresponding to the end of an associated T-wave and applying trains of electrical stimulation pulses within a range of ?15% to ?1% corresponding to said R-R path length before the end of the T-wave and having a train duration selected in

  • Publication number: 20130318859
Abstract: A weighted keeper having an elongated cylinder and a plurality of protrusions thereon. The plurality of protrusions may comprise a wide variety of different shapes and configurations for maintaining bait on the weighted keeper. In one embodiment, a weighted keeper with conical barbs may be disposed about a pin or wire to support live bait or an artificial dressing. The keeper wire may provide a keeper eye at one end of the weighted keeper and a wire tip at the opposing end of the weighted keeper. The keeper eye may be attached to the eye of any fishhook known within the art and the wire tip may assist in piercing and mounting the bait onto and about the surface of the weighted keeper. The attached bait is provided with beneficial performance characteristics that more accurately mimic or replicate the movement of live bait fish.

  • Publication number: 20100166924
Abstract: A flexible package with a multiple-opening feature is suitable for retail sale of food products and is comprised of a film material. The flexible package includes two areas of weakness defining two removable top portions. Removal of the first top portion exposes an opening in the flexible package allowing egress of the product through a first opening. Removal of the second top portion exposes a second opening in the flexible package, which, by one approach, is larger than the first opening and thereby permits increased access to the food product.

  • Patent number: 6323809
Abstract: The present invention provides a fragmented aperture antenna. The antenna includes a planar layer having a plurality of conductive and substantially non-conductive areas. Each area has a periphery that extends along a grid of first and second sets of parallel lines so that each area comprises one or more contiguous elements defined by the parallel lines. The locations of the conducting materials in the fragmented aperture antenna are determined by a multi-stage optimization procedure that tailors the performance of the antenna to a particular application. The resulting configuration and arrangement of conductive and substantially non-conductive areas enable communication of electromagnetic energy wirelessly in a specific direction to the planar layer when an electrical connection is made to at least one of the conductive areas.

  • Patent number: 5373688
Abstract: A first and a second debris outlet on a fan housing having a single fan and single intake or suction opening on a nut harvester. The nut harvester being of the type having structure for picking nuts up from the ground and depositing the nuts onto a moving open conveyor chain to carry the nuts for deposit into a storage container. The harvester includes a debris removal system including the fan within the fan housing connected to intake ducting positioned to draw air through the open conveyor chain to draw debris from the nuts into the fan housing to be exhausted out onto the ground. The first and second debris outlets are positioned on opposite sides of the fan housing from one another, approximately 180 degrees apart, and positioned so that debris is discharged to the two oppositely disposed sides of the harvester.

  • Patent number: 5001893
Abstract: A wheel mounted harvester having a tow hitch at each end thereof for towing by a tractor, and to allow the harvester to simultaneously tow a harvest trailer. The harvester is used in orchards to pick-up nuts for deposit into the trailer towed by the nut harvester. Crop pick-up and cleaning mechanics on the harvester are powered by the power-take-off unit of the towing tractor. The harvester structure uses a pulley and vertically oriented drive belt arrangement at the front end of the harvester to transfer power from the power-take-off shaft to a support shaft of a suction fan and hydraulic fluid pump mounted thereto. The suction fan and housing therefor is mounted at the center front end of the harvester. Affixed to the fan housing and extending rearward therefrom is an elongated vacuum chamber leading centrally into a debris separation chamber.

  • Patent number: 4357187
Abstract: A border molding strip is placed about the perimeter of an existing window pane. A second pane is then placed upon this border material. A retaining border is then placed to retain the window pane firmly against the border material, thus creating an airtight seal between the existing window pane, the border material and the second window pane. Appropriate adhesive and sealing compounds are applied to insure an airtight seal. Thereafter, the space between the existing window pane and the supplemental pane is purged with dry gas and may be evacuated through an opening exposed under a portion of the retaining means. After the window pane is purged and evacuated, a plug is inserted and the opening in the molding material is closed.
