  • Patent number: 4936438
Abstract: Apparatus useful for either loading or unloading a workpiece carried on a C-shaped carrier of a conveyor. The base of the carrier has a pair of spaced legs on which the workpiece is carried. The loading apparatus includes a carriage that is moveable along a pair of guide bars toward and away from the path of motion of the carrier. A cradle supports the workpiece and is carried on the carriage so as to be received between the legs of the carrier for loading the workpiece. The loading apparatus includes a pair of motors. One is connected to the carriage to move it in a reciprocating, horizontal, harmonic motion. The second motor is mounted on the carriage so as to be moved with it in the horizontal motion. The second motor is connected to the cradle to move it in a vertical, harmonic motion. The two motors are energized in an alternating manner so that the cradle is moved in a rectangular, path of motion and synchronized with the conveyor carrier.

  • Patent number: 4928811
Abstract: A motor is mounted on a base having a pair of horizontal rails on which a series of workpieces are mounted. A lifting frame and a transfer bar are mounted beneath the rails. The lifting frame carries four cam rollers. Four cams mounted on the base support the cam rollers such that as the lifting frame is moved back and forth, it either rises or falls on the base depending upon the frame's direction of motion. A motor is mounted on the base and connected by a linkage to the lifting frame to reciprocate it in a motion parallel to the rails. The transfer bar is mounted, on rollers on the lifting frame to rise and fall with the lifting frame as well as being horizontally moveable with respect to the lifting frame. A second linkage connects the motor to the transfer bar.
