  • Publication number: 20150207902
Abstract: Methods for scheduling data download requests for a device are provided. In one aspect, a method includes assigning to a device a first wait period of a random length below a first pre-determined maximum value, and receiving a notification that data is available for download to the device. The method also includes determining whether an amount of time elapsed since the data was made available for download to the device exceeds the first wait period, and when the determination indicates that the amount of time elapsed since the data was made available for download exceeds the first wait period, downloading the data available for the device. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9058251
Abstract: A system for detecting external software update failure of an application may receive a request at the application to determine the status of an update mechanism and infrastructure (“updater”) associated with the application. The system may determine one or more values written by the updater at a location accessible by the application. The one or more values may include one or more of a first value indicating when a last successful check for updates for the application was completed by the updater and a second value indicating when a last successful update for the application was completed. The system may determine, at the application and based on the one or more values, if an update failure has occurred at the updater. The update failure may include the updater having problems detecting or applying updates. The system may generate a notification when it determines that an update failure has occurred.

  • Publication number: 20150137817
Abstract: Illustrative permanent electromagnetic (EM) monitoring systems and methods have a casing string positioned inside a borehole and equipped with one or more EM transducer modules having a layer of soft magnetic material that substantially encircles the casing string to amplify a signal response of a magnetic field transmitting and/or sensing element. The layer preferably has an axial dimension at least twice an axial dimension of the magnetic field sensing element, with a relative permeability at least twice that of the casing material. The magnetic field transmitting element can be a coil. The magnetic field sensing element can be a coil or a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive element that applies stress to an optical fiber. A well interface system communicates with the one or more EM transducer modules to transmit and/or collect EM signals over time. Additional casing strings may be provided in other nearby boreholes to enable tomographic mapping and monitoring of fluid interfaces in the reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20140372205
Abstract: A system may select and serve content items based on a view probability. The view probability may be determined using a view probability predictive model and one or more current viewability variables. Based on the determined view probability output by the view probability predictive model, a content item may be selected and served. A script may be included with or otherwise associated with the data output to effect presentation of the selected content item. The script outputs data indicative of whether the served content item is viewed on a display of a device. • Publication number: 20130018588
Abstract: A method for rapid real time imaging of geological formations and/or man-made objects having density and/or magnetization is described, using gravity and/or magnetic scalar and/or vector and/or tensor data measured by a moving platform. The gravity and/or magnetic field sensors may measure gravity and/or magnetic data at the at least one receiver along the survey lines by the moving platform. The recorded data may be applied as an artificial source of the potential field to generate an evolving migration (backpropagating) field, and may be applied iteratively. An integrated sensitivity of the potential field to density and/or magnetization perturbation may be calculated. A spatial weighting of at least one of the evolving migration fields may form an evolving real time holographic image. At least one desired property of the medium may be derived providing real time reconstruction of the volume physical properties of the geological formations and/or man-made objects.
