    Abstract: A printer having a movable print head including a print head mounted on a carriage and having an array of printing elements for printing lines of pixels onto a recording medium during a scanning motion, mechanical means for moving the carriage and recording medium relative to one another in a main scanning direction (A) and a subscanning direction (B) perpendicular to the main scanning direction, and an additional actuator for dynamically displacing the print head, relative to the carriage, in a scanning direction, in order to fine tune the position of the print head relative to the recording medium.
