Abstract: Workspace continuity can be provided. When a user connects a user computing device to peripherals to form a workspace, a configuration for the workspace can be selected and automatically applied to the workspace. The configuration can be selected based on identifiers of the user, a user computing device, and the workspace.

Abstract: A container mode can be dynamically selected when an application is launched on an end user computing device. When an application is deployed to the end user computing device, a container configurator can collect information about the application and share it with a machine learning solution to receive an application score for the application. When the application is launched on the end user computing device, the container configurator can provide the application score, capabilities of the end user computing device, current resource utilization and admin preferences to the machine learning solution. The machine learning solution can then dynamically select a container mode based on this information and provide the selection to the container configurator. The container configurator can then cause the application to be launched within a container that matches the selected container mode.

Abstract: A computing device's performance can be dynamically tuned for a containerized application. A dynamic tuning solution can be configured to identify target applications that are running in workspaces implemented using containers, including when a target application is moved between workspaces and when a workspace's context is changed. The dynamic tuning solution can create mappings between identifiers of the container and a performance level associated with the target applications. A driver can then use these mappings to ensure that the computing device is dynamically tuned to the performance level associated with the target application when the container hosting the target application is active. The dynamic tuning solution can also reconcile discrepancies between a performance level associated with a target application and a performance level associated with a workspace in which the target application is containerized.

Abstract: External display devices can be dynamically configured. An adaptive display engine may be configured to receive requests from agents executing an users' client computing devices when the users connect their client computing devices to external display devices. Such a request may indicate that one or more external display devices have been connected to a client computing device and may identify the display configuration for the one or more external display devices and an internal display device. The adaptive display engine can dynamically determine recommended settings based on the specified display configuration and return the recommended settings to the agent. The agent can then automatically apply the recommended settings on the client computing device.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for selecting and configuring grouped peripherals in shared workspaces are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an IHS may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by the processor, cause the IHS to: group a plurality of devices available during a shared workspace session into a plurality of groups; transmit, to a remote service: (a) an indication of a performance metric, and (b) an indication of the plurality of groups; and receive, from the remote service, a selection of one device in each of the plurality of groups for use during the shared workspace session based, at least in part, upon the performance metric.

Abstract: Secure workspace servicing can be coordinated. A host agent on a user computing device can include a servicing manager plugin that is configured to interface with a workspace agent running in one or more secure workspaces deployed on the user computing device. The workspace agent can periodically report a status of the respective secure workspace to the servicing manager plugin. The servicing manager plugin can use the reported status to categorize each secure workspace in a critical workspace cluster or a non-critical workspace cluster. When the host agent received a servicing policy, the servicing manager plugin can coordinate the servicing of the secure workspaces using the critical and non-critical workspace clusters.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for managing an Information Handling System (IHS) using a workspace orchestration system are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an IHS may include computer-executable instructions to, instantiate a first workspace comprising a cache database, the first workspace being instantiated with a first interface that is configured to communicate with a second interface configured in a second workspace administered by the workspace orchestration system. The cache database being accessed by the second workspace using the first interface.

Abstract: Dock-connected peripherals can be enumerated in a preferred order. When a client computing device is connected to a dock, a dock service can report peripherals connected to the dock one-by-one to ensure that each peripheral is enumerated in the preferred order. The preferred order can be defined based on a user's usage of the peripherals including an order of usage, a usage frequency, and a purpose.

Abstract: Peripherals can be managed in a workspace environment. Peripherals can be associated with hoteling cubes to enable the inclusion of the peripherals in workspaces at the hoteling cubes to be managed. Users can be enabled to request the inclusion of additional peripherals in workspaces at the hoteling cubes. Users can also be enabled to include their own peripherals in workspaces at the hoteling cubes.

Abstract: Best known configurations for workspaces can be managed. Device groups can be defined based on functional roles or organizational departments. Each device group can be associated with a workspace along with a best known configuration for the workspace that is based on the device group. Workspaces can then be deployed to the end-user computing devices based on the device group to which each end-user computing device belongs and in accordance with the associated best known configuration.

Abstract: Systems and methods for mitigating Information Handling System (IHS) startup latency in hoteling environments due to driver and firmware updates are described. In an embodiment, an IHS configured to: receive an indication of a selected one of a plurality of workspaces; in response to the indication, retrieve a list of driver or firmware updates corresponding to peripheral devices available in the selected workspace; identify a subset of driver or firmware updates among the list of driver or firmware updates based, at least in part, upon a comparison between the list of driver or firmware updates and a list of one or more drivers or firmware installed in the IHS; and initiate installation of the subset of one or more driver or firmware updates before the IHS arrives at the selected workspace.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing workspace configuration recommendations in hoteling environments are described. In an embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the IHS to: receive telemetry data from a plurality of client IHSs, where the telemetry data comprises integrated device data and workspace device data. The program instructions may, upon execution, further cause the IHS to identify, for a client IHS, a workspace configuration recommendation usable in a selected one of a plurality of workspaces based, at least in part, upon the telemetry data, and to transmit an indication of the recommendation to the client IHS.

Abstract: Systems and methods for seamless pairing of wireless devices in hoteling environments are described. In an embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS), may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the IHS to: in response to a temporary reservation of one of a plurality of workspaces, receive data associated with a peripheral device located in the workspace; pre-pair the peripheral device to the IHS based upon the data in anticipation of the IHS having reached the workspace; and in response to a determination that the IHS has reached the workspace, complete a pairing of the peripheral device to the IHS.

Abstract: Device group configurations can be managed across workspaces based on context. A service can be employed on each client computing device that a user may use in his or her workspaces. The service can be configured to determine when a profile applies to a workspace and can automatically apply a device group configuration to the workspace. The service can also monitor for context changes while a device group configuration is applied and can adjust the device group configuration based on the context changes.

Abstract: An information handling system includes a plurality of containerized applications, a container service, a hardware device, and a host processor to initialize a host service. The container service is associated with the containerized applications. The hardware device is virtualized to the containerized applications. The host processor identifies the hardware device that is virtualized to the containerized applications. The host processor receives a power notification from the container service. Based on the power notification, the host processor changes a power state of the hardware device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for deploying software updates in heterogeneous workspace environments are described. The system for managing workspaces includes computer-executable instructions for obtaining multiple inventories corresponding to multiple workspaces of an IHS, wherein the inventories each include information associated with the applications deployed in its respective workspace. The instructions are further executed to, for each inventory, identify the workspace associated with the inventory, determine which of the applications are to be updated with new software, and deploy the determined new software to the identified workspace.

Abstract: Access to peripherals can be managed in a containerized environment. A management service can be employed on a computing device to detect when a container is created. When a container is created or a peripheral is connected, the management service can determine that an application running within the container should be allowed to access a peripheral. The management service can then interface with a peripheral mapper running within the container to enable the application to access the peripheral. A peripheral access manager can also be employed to isolate the peripheral to the container.

Abstract: Services can be managed across containers. A management service can obtain or compile configuration information for containerized applications and containerized services that are hosted on a computing device. The configuration information can define how a containerized application is dependent on a containerized service. Using the configuration information, the management service can establish data paths between containers to enable container services running in the containers to perform cross-container communications by which a containerized application in one container can access a containerized service in another container. The management service may also enable a container service to perform communications by which a containerized application can access services provided by the host operating system.
