Reflector 18 disposed below LE 16 reflects light towards cover 20. A polar light distribution of light emitted from LED lamp 10 is omnidirectional and is Energy Star compliant.

The housing has a first end with a first end cap and an opening therein. A first set of pins extend from the first end cap, and are coupled to a first set of pin connectors. A movable actuator has a pair of electrical connectors that correspond to the first set of pin connectors and are coupled to the solid state light sources. A bridge that holds the pair of electrical connectors, and a holder extends from the bridge through the opening in the first end cap. The movable actuator is capable of movement between a closed position, which creates an electrical connection between the electrical connectors and the pin connectors, and an open position, wherein creates no such electrical connection.

The emitted light is mixed to produce a white light output. The LED chips are arranged on the substrate in a manner that improves color-mixing, for example, by forming LED sets including one or more LED chips of different colors, by skewing the LED chips, and/or by forming a non-rectangular array or a circular array of LED sets and/or chips. The color-mixing LED arrangement may be used in a lamp or other light source together with collimating optics to collimate and further mix the color-mixed light output from the LED arrangement. The color-mixing LED arrangement may be provided as a single package with multiple LED chips or as multiple packages of one or more LED chips.
