  • Publication number: 20230143855
Abstract: Disclosed is a rupture disc assembly for use in making a temporary seal in a vessel such as a casing string. The rupture disc assembly may include a rupture disc having a side surface that has a shallow angle taper inward towards a bottom surface of the rupture disc, and a mounting apparatus to support the rupture disc so that the rupture disc forms the temporary seal. When a disc working pressure is applied to a top surface of the rupture disc, engagement/force transmission between the rupture disc and the mounting apparatus produces enough radial compression in the rupture disc due to the shallow angle taper to significantly mitigate or cancel tensile stresses thereby avoiding the rupture disc from breaking. The rupture disc may be configured to break when the rupture disc is subjected to a disc working pressure that is greater than the disc rupture pressure, thereby removing the temporary seal.

  • Publication number: 20230039198
Abstract: A control circuit regulates the propagation delay of a field effect transistor (FET) before the FET transitions to the Miller region by applying a pre-charge current for a fixed duration to the gates of the FET. After the fixed duration, the current is reduced to a lower drive current level which is based on a desired output voltage slew rate. After the FET transitions to the Miller region, the output voltage slews down in accordance with the output voltage slew rate. By regulating the slew-rate of the output voltage in the Miller region and regulating the propagation delay of the FET prior to the Miller region, the control circuit reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) caused by the switching of the FET, thereby improving electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of switch mode driver systems without increasing the propagation delay of the FET.

  • Publication number: 20220318039
Abstract: This document describes techniques for suggesting actions based on machine learning. These techniques determine a task that a user desires to perform, and presents a user interface through which to perform the task. To determine this task, the techniques can analyze content displayed on the user device or analyze contexts of the user and user device. With this determined task, the techniques determine an action that may assist the user in performing the task. This action is further determined to be performable through analysis of functionalities of an application, which may or may not be executing or installed on the user device. With some subset of the application's functionalities determined, the techniques presents the subset of functionalities via the user interface. By so doing, the techniques enable a user to complete a task more easily, quickly, or using fewer computing resources.

  • Patent number: 11275630
Abstract: This document describes techniques and devices for task-related sorting, application discovery, and unified bookmarking for application managers. Through use of an application manager, multiple applications (including standalone applications, instant applications, websites, and other content) that a person can use to accomplish a single task, or multiple related tasks, are sorted into discrete groups for display in the application manager. The application manager can automatically recognize relationships between activities performed with the applications and recognize user actions with the applications that are related to the activities. Based on the relationships and user actions, the application manager can automatically determine that the activities and actions represent a task and display a task group that includes the applications that represent the task.

  • Patent number: 11269927
Abstract: A transactional replicator applying group commit and barrier concepts is disclosed. Group commit means that the transactional replicator commits multiple transactions in a group and is not restricted to committing single transactions one-at-a-time and is not limited to operating on a single state provider. Barrier means that the transactional replicator does not move forward to commit additional transactions until the previous group of transactions are completed. All state providers must apply their transactions and update state before additional transactions will be committed. A quorum acknowledgement “unlocks” any locks that were acquired to update the state within a state provider. However, as long as there are no lock conflicts, additional transactions can continue to create new group commits as necessary.
