  • Publication number: 20030212610
Abstract: A system and method for specification and exchange management includes a specification application, an exchange application, a source application, and an optional enterprise application. The specification application enables a user to create, modify, and retire specifications for items having standard terminology in a standard format. The exchange application enables a user to perform a transaction for generating a request for quote/request for proposal to designated suppliers for an item, receiving supply proposals in response to the requests, and forming a contract to supply of the items. The source application exchanges content between the specification application and the exchange application. The enterprise application communicates with user applications for users of the system and transmits content to and from the user and the specification application and the exchange application.

  • Patent number: 5586792
Abstract: A quick connector coupling for a fluid line includes a hollow female connector body which receives a tubular male member with a raised annular upset. A retainer is demountably coupled to the connector body. The retainer includes two spaced beams which extend through slots in the connector body from a cross member postioned outside of the connector body. The beams are positioned between the upset and an end of the connector body, and have a relaxed spacing less than the upset diameter such that the male member is secured in the connector body. A release protrusion projects from each retainer beam between the cross member and the connector body. The release protrusions have cam surfaces cooperable with an external surface of the connector body to spread the retainer beams apart when the cross member is pressed toward the connector body.

  • Patent number: 5441313
Abstract: A quick connector coupling for forming a joint in a fluid line consists of a female connector body having a bore which receives a male member. A retainer disposed in the bore includes retention fingers which extend between first abutment surfaces formed in the connector body and an upset formed on the male member to secure the male member in the connector body. An insertion indicator disposed in the bore has an indicator ring which is seated against a radial rim formed adjacent an entrance to the connector body bore, legs extending away from the indicator ring and into the bore, and engagement means attached to the legs which abut second abutment surfaces formed in the connector body to position the insertion indicator in the connector body. The indicator ring is separable from the engagement means to signal a proper coupling of the male member and female connector body.
