Abstract: In a hearing protection earplug made of foamed material, provision is made in order to attain a defined attenuation and avoid annoyances caused by self-generated sounds, that the surface of the hearing protection earplug has hollows in the area of the inner end face. The hearing protection earplug includes a main body having a central center longitudinal axis and in the direction of this central center longitudinal axis an axially inner end face and an axially outer end face. In the area of the inner end face, surface area enlarging inner hollows are provided, one of which, in the form of an inner central longitudinal hollow, extends inward longitudinally relative to the center longitudinal axis, starting from the inner end face. Also provided is an outer central longitudinal hollow that extends inward longitudinally relative to the center longitudinal axis, starting from the outer end face.

Abstract: Banded hearing protector that includes two hearing protecting bodies of soft, sound attenuating material and a headband including a central part having two ends and headband shanks having angled ends. Each angled end may support one of the two hearing protecting bodies. The banded hearing protector may also include a hinge that swingably couples each of the headband shanks to the central part and each of the two hearing protecting bodies may include a convexly curved contact surface positioned opposite the angled ends.

Abstract: An ear defender which comprises two ear plugs (11) each of which is connected to a respective end of a cord (20). Each plug (11) includes a plug-part (10) which is provided with a recess (18) for a cord locking sleeve which coacts with a respective plug-part. The locking sleeve (12) is slotted from its front end in the plug-part so as to form two identical sleeve-parts (24). These are joined together at the rear end of the locking sleeve (12) by at least one hinge or web part (26) formed integrally with the locking sleeve. A length of the end of the cord extends into a channel (32) in the sleeve through an opening provided in the vicinity of the hinge part. The cord end is secured in the channel (32), by pressing the sleeve parts into firm engagement with the cord end within the recess (18).
