  • Publication number: 20110000245
Abstract: In a chemical heat pump using a hybrid substance (2) and a volatile liquid, layers (3) of a matrix material are provided for binding or containing the substance and/or the condensed volatile liquid. These matrix layers are placed sot that transport of heat to or from an external medium at at least the free surfaces of the matrix layers is obtained and preferably also at their opposite surfaces. Therefor, pipe conduits (9) are provided, in which the external medium flows and which are placed at the surfaces of the matrix layers, such as both beneath supporting plates (4) and directly on top of the matrix layers. By using pipe conduits at the free surfaces of the matrix layers, i.e. the surfaces which are not located at the supporting plates, it is achieved that the free surfaces of the matrix layers still are permeable to the vapour of the volatile liquid in both the evaporation stage and the condensing stage.

  • Publication number: 20100205981
Abstract: An installation for storing and/or transporting energy comprises a charging station, a discharging station and a reactor part (1). The reactor part is designed to be part of a chemical heat pump and contains an active substance. It is also arranged to be capable of being connected to the charging station for charging, i.e. transfer of the active substance to a charged state, and to the discharging station for discharging, i.e. transfer of the active substance to a discharged state. In the reactor part a matrix for the active substance can in one embodiment be provided, so that the active substance both in its solid and its liquid state is held or carried or bonded by the matrix. The matrix is advantageously an inert material such as aluminium oxide and has pores, which are permeable for the volatile liquid and in which the active substance is located. In particular, a material can be used that has a surface or surfaces, at which the active substance can be bonded in the liquid state thereof.

  • Publication number: 20090249825
Abstract: A chemical heal pump includes a reactor part (1) that contains an active substance and an evaporator/condenser part (3) that contains that portion of volatile liquid that exists in a condensed state and can be absorbed by the active substance. A channel (4) interconnects the reactor part and the evaporator/condenser part, In at least the reactor part a matrix (13) is provided for the active substance so that the active substance both in its solid state and its liquid state or its solution phase is hold or carried by or bonded to the matrix. The matrix is advantageously an inert material such as aluminium oxide and has pores, which are permeable for the volatile liquid and in which the active substance is located. In particular, a material can be used that has a surface or surfaces, at which the active substance can be bonded in the liquid state thereof. For example, the matrix can be a material comprising separate particles such as a powder or a compressed fibre material.

  • Publication number: 20070095095
Abstract: In a chemical heat pump installation two identical main units are provided, each one including a reactor and one condenser/evaporator integrated in the same container (100). One main unit is charged while the other one e.g. produces cooling. Large energy amounts are consumed in the switching operation when the unit that has been charged is to be cooled and the unit that has produced cooling is to be heated. To reduce these amounts of energy each of reactor and condenser/evaporator are divided in two further vessels. The condenser/evaporator has one part (3), in which the heat exchanger (3.3) thereof is placed, and one collecting part (4), in which the volatile liquid in its condensed shape is stored. In the same way, the reactor has a part (1), in which the heat exchanger (1.3) and the filter (1.2) thereof are placed, and a collecting part (2), in which solution of the active substance in the volatile liquid is stored.

  • Patent number: 5062754
Abstract: The invention disclosed is directed to a method, an apparatus for manufacturing and apparatus for using a booklet, folder or wrapper comprising two substantially parallel covers (1,2) united with a spine (3) at crease lines (5,6). A strip (4) of adhesive binder is attached to the inside of the spine (3) and extends only between the crease lines (5,6). The strip of adhesive (4) is intended to be activated to provide adhesion between itself and one edge of a sheaf of sheets of material which are inserted between the covers (2,3). Two opposing longitudinal side edges of the (4a, 4b) of the strip of adhesive (4) are united with the respective covers (1,2) before the sheaf of sheets is inserted between the covers (2,3).

  • Patent number: 4855010
Abstract: Apparatus for gluing together at least two individual sheets of material cut to finished dimensions and intended to form parts of a folder consisting of a spine and two covers. The apparatus includes two reception surfaces situated side by side, each defined by aligning members for aligning the two individual sheets in predetermined positions relative to each other. There is provided a first conveyor for moving one sheet away from its reception surface to a gluing device for coating at least one sheet with a glue bead and a second conveyor for moving the second sheet away from its reception surface. At least one of the conveyors is adapted to move one sheet relative to the other so that both sheets overlap each other in the area of the glue bead. A press is provided for pressing together both sheets in said area.
