  • Patent number: 11008173
Abstract: The bottom tier (24) of a conveyor belt (22) arranged in a spiral stack (26) is supported by and driven by inner and outer drive chains (28) and (30). The inner and outer drive chains are supported on and ride along support rails (32) and (34). The inner and outer drive chains are driven by a drive system (35) composed of inner and outer drive systems (36) and (38), each including a drive motor with a drive gear engaged with the inner and outer drive chains. Each of the motors is controlled by a separate variable frequency drive unit (114) and (116) which in turn are controlled by a control system (44). The control system (44) also controls the operation of a lubrication system (40) that supplies lubricant to the drive chains.

  • Publication number: 20200283031
Abstract: A longitudinally curved support rail (56) for supporting and moving a drive chain assembly (52) at the base of a spiral conveyor belt (34) to drive the bottom tier (30) of the spiral conveyor belt while being supported by the support rail. The support rail including an upright web section (80) and a support flange (78) cantilevered outwardly from the web section to provide a platform or shelf to support a chain drive assembly (52), thereon during travel of the chain drive assembly along the support rail.

  • Patent number: 8820517
Abstract: A lateral plate element (106) for a link for a self-stacking endless conveyor belt includes an outer plate section (110); an inner plate section (120); and a bridging plate section (130) bridging the outer and inner plate sections. A resting surface (141) engages a lateral plate element of an underlying tier of the self-stacking endless conveyor belt (1). An upper portion with an associated upper edge (7) engages the resting surface of a lateral plate element of an overlaying tier of the self-stacking endless conveyor belt when it extends helically. An inner abutment surface (126) engages the upper portion of the underlying lateral plate element to limit outward lateral movement of the lateral plate element relative the underlying lateral plate element. An outer abutment surface (142) engages the upper portion of the underlying lateral plate element to limit the inward lateral movement of the lateral plate element relative the underlying lateral plate element.

  • Patent number: 8800757
Abstract: A lateral plate element (6, 6?) for a link means (4, 4?) for a self-stacking, helical endless conveyor belt (1), the lateral plate element, comprises an outer plate section (10), an inner plate section (20) and a bridging plate section (30) bridging the outer and inner plate sections (10, 20). The outer plate section (10) comprises a top subsection (11) extending in a first plane and wherein the inner plate section (20) comprises a top subsection (21) extending in a second plane, the second plane being offset, in an inward direction (A). The outer plate section (10) further comprises a bottom subsection (12) arranged in a bottom part of the outer plate section (10) and extending in a third plane being offset in the inward direction (A) with regard to the first plane. The lateral plate element further comprises a reinforcement (13) extending between the top subsection (11) and the bottom subsection (12) of the outer plate section (10).

  • Publication number: 20130270074
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a lateral plate element (6, 6?) for a link means (4, 4?) included in a self-stacking endless conveyor belt (1), in which the conveyor belt (1) extends helically along part of its length. The lateral plate element, comprises an outer plate section (10), an inner plate section (20) and a bridging plate section (30) bridging said outer and inner plate sections (10, 20). Said outer plate section (10) comprises a top subsection (11) extending in a first plane and wherein said inner plate section (20) comprises a top subsection (21) extending in a second plane, said second plane being offset, in an inward direction (A), with regard to said first plane. Said outer plate section (10) further comprises a bottom subsection (12) arranged in a bottom part of said outer plate section (10) and extending in a third plane being offset in said inward direction (A) with regard to said first plane.
