  • Publication number: 20230266831
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method, a computer program product, and a device for obtaining user input to an application in a portable device including a touch detection area and one or more movement determining sensors. The method includes detecting first user input on the touch detection area within a time period, wherein the first user input is related to the application. The method further includes registering movement of the portable device within a predetermined space during said time period and causing the application to respond to second user input during said time period, wherein the second user input is obtained from the registered movement.

  • Patent number: 8200209
Abstract: Power consumption of an electronic device is measured by using circuitry within the electronic device to make power consumption measurements of the electronic device at predetermined time intervals. Each of the power consumption measurements is provided to a user of the device. This may involve incorporating each of the power consumption measurements in a debug printout generated by the electronic device. The measurements may be initiated by retrieving a parameter from a storage area within the electronic device, and initiating the power consumption measuring techniques in response to detecting that the retrieved parameter is in a predetermined state.

  • Publication number: 20060104204
Abstract: A message that comprises encoded bits interleaved over N transmission bursts, wherein N is greater than 1, is received by receiving fewer than N of the transmission bursts, whereby there exist remaining ones of the N transmission bursts that have not been received. All of the received transmission bursts are decoded to generate decoded data. It is then determined whether the decoded data is error free. Reception of remaining transmission bursts of the message is inhibited if the decoded data is error free, otherwise one or more remaining ones of the N transmission bursts are received.

  • Patent number: 6615059
Abstract: A microphone is provided in a mobile terminal and is connected to a current source when the flip portion of the mobile terminal is open and is disconnected from the current source when the flip portion of the phone is closed. The mobile terminal can then infer the position of the flip portion of the housing, e.g., opened or closed, based upon the state of the microphone's current supply circuit, for example by detecting the current flowing through the circuit or a voltage drop across a supply resistor. In addition, an on-hook/off-hook button can be provided to a hands-free accessory without increasing a number of signal lines/connections between the hands-free accessory and the mobile terminal. This can be accomplished, for example, by connecting the on-hook/off-hook button to a switch in the microphone signal line. The switch selectively creates an open in the microphone signal line, which can be detected by the mobile terminal, thereby resulting in an off-hook condition.

  • Patent number: 6314183
Abstract: A portable communication device has an apparatus housing with a movable element attached thereto and a sensor for detecting a position of the movable element in relation to the apparatus housing. The communication device also has an electrodynamic device having a magnet. The sensor is arranged to detect the magnetic field originating from the magnet in the electrodynamic device and to provide an output which is relative to the apparatus housing. A device is provided, in the movable element, for conducting the magnetic field from the electrodynamic device to the sensor.

  • Patent number: 5927997
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for connecting two electrical circuits (2,17;15,16) by a connection which permits that the two circuits easily can be separated and reunited again at the same time as interference and scratching noise in the connection mechanism are avoided. A first carrier (14, 28) is movable around a shaft (1), which is fastened onto a second carrier (7, 29). The first carrier (14, 28) can easily be removed from the shaft (1) and refitted again. The first carrier (14, 28) has a projecting part (8, 23, 30), which presses against an electrically conducting elastomer (4,18a-l, 21, 33) localized on the second carrier (7, 29). On the projecting part (8, 23, 30) there is an electrically conducting part (9, 20a-l, 24a-h), which is connected to a first electrical circuit (2,17) localized on the first carrier (14, 28). The electrically conducting elastomer (4,18a-l, 21, 33) is connected to a second electrical circuit (15,16) localized on the second carrier (7, 29).
