  • Publication number: 20030172452
Abstract: In a bathtub lift for seniors and the handicapped comprising a scissor-type lifting mechanism whereby a seat plate is vertically adjustable relative to a floor stand, a back rest connected to the seat plate, a telescopic lifting device that is connected to the back rest as well as to the seat plate on one hand and supported on the floor stand on the other hand, and a drive unit to drive the lifting device, provision is made for the lifting device to comprise a driven gearwheel, which, together with a driving gearwheel that is connected to the drive unit forms a gear mechanism and is engageable with this driving gearwheel, wherein the two gearwheels are separable from one another by a pulling force acting upon the lifting device resulting from a body part of a bathing person getting trapped.

  • Patent number: 5961787
Abstract: A solvent extraction apparatus which includes a heating plate, a vessel for containing a solvent, an extraction thimble to obtain a sample to be extracted from said vessel and a cooler for condensing evaporated solvent vapors. The cooler is connected to the vessel for containing the solvent, preferably by an adaptor. A lifting rod is provided which passes through the cooler which, at its lower portion, is provided with a drip rim on which the extraction thimble is detachably fixed. The thimble can be moved vertically by the lifting rod and the flow of solvent into and out of the cooler can be regulated by the lifting rod.

  • Patent number: 5375391
Abstract: A device for guiding objects that are connected to one another in a strip form and that are to be individually applied to packaging containers includes a feed wheel for receiving the objects and feeding them in a forward direction. A guide plate surrounds an end of the feed wheel and the guide plate is connected to an arrangement that allows the position of the guide plate to be adjusted relative to the feed wheel.

  • Patent number: 5225827
Abstract: The invention relates to a warning device in a motor vehicle for detection of unintentional change of course. The invention utilizes existing white road lines being scanned by two detectors (A) mounted far out in the front on the left-hand and the right-hand side of the bumper of the vehicle. IR transmitting diodes (1) located in the detectors are fed from a transmitting unit of an electronic unit mounted in the vehicle with a pulsed signal voltage. The light emitted from the IR diode (1) is reflected by the lines (10) of the roadway (11) to an IR receiving diode (12) mounted in the detector (A), this diode not being affected by visible natural and/or artifical light but is only activated by the pulsed, reflected IR light. The signal voltage received by the IR receiving diode (12) is connected to two receiving parts mounted in the electronic unit, one for the right-hand and one for the left-hand side of the vehicle compartment, for conversion into an acoustic or an optical warning signal to the driver.

  • Patent number: 5183622
Abstract: Method for manufacturing form-pressed wood fibre panels, for example door skins, and panels manufactured according to the method. The process starts from a workable, mass produced panel displaying high thermal conductance, for example a so-called MDF-board or chip board. The panel is preheated to a condition where the wood fibres and the binding agent which binds the wood fibres form a pliable or stretchable composition though still in continous panel-like condition. This preheated panel is fed to a form-pressing device where the pressure is relatively slowly increased from 0 to approximately 30 kg/cm.sup.2 during continuing heat supply to a temperature of around 150.degree.-200.degree. C. Usually this is attained in connection with door skins after a period of approximately 1,5 minutes. Finally, a form-stable, form-pressed panel is removed from the press.

  • Patent number: 4844968
Abstract: A thin, plate-shaped object, especially a door skin, and a method of manufacturing such object, comprising a resin impregnated outer layer arranged directly onto a layer of a binder impregnated wood fine chips layer acting as a forming support for the fibre sheet material.A layer of coarse wood chips acts as a reinforcing and handling characteristics defining layer for the relatively large (some m.sup.2) and relatively thin (2 to 5 millimeteres) door skin.

  • Patent number: 4756444
Abstract: Lid for large containers (12) especially food preparation containers for catering, and of the type, supported by an arm (17), which is rotable around an axle (16). In order to admit the opening of a small slit of the container (12) opening under simultaneous swinging away of the lid (11), the axle (16) is therefore arranged at an acute angle against opening plane of the container (12).

  • Patent number: 4428680
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for mixing both liquid and pastelike substances, especially foods in pots of large kitchens. An upward and downward circulatory motion of the substance is produced by two oppositely rotating mixers (10, 11), which while rotating are raised and lowered through the substance. Each mixer includes blade groups (24-27 and 28-31) with opposite inclinations as viewed in the rotation direction, such that while raising and lowering the mixers layer by layer a part of the substance is lifted mechanically while another part is pressed downward. The apparatus includes of a mobile unit (1) which can be fixed and centered in an exact position relative to the pot (2).
