  • Patent number: 9166458
Abstract: The pump/generator apparatus and method provides a series of pump/generator devices, having magnets in place of conventional bearings, to generate electrical energy, creating a pump/generator for flowing liquids or gases. Stator coils on the outside of the housing gather electric current. The apparatus requires initial input power from an external power source to start the pumping and provides an initial external reservoir of liquid or gas flowing into the apparatus. A hollow turbine housing receiving flowing gas or liquid, encloses a freely spinning hollow drive cylinder. A helicoidal impeller gives the drive cylinder thrust to spin. Ring magnets vertically support the helicoidal impeller allowing the drive cylinder to float freely in the pipeline. Stator coils wind around and ring the exterior side of the housing to generate electric current.

  • Publication number: 20130161872
Abstract: The present disclosure is concerned with improving the appearance of graphics printed on a flexible polymer film which is subsequently heated to a forming temperature and then drawn into a mold to form a cavity adapted for the packaging of an item, typically a food item. The improvement is effected by reducing the heat transfer to the portions of the film carrying the graphics thereby reducing the formability of these portions so that they stretch less than the rest of the film which is drawn into the mold. Typically the film is heated by contact with a heated platen. In such cases the reduced heat transfer can be effected by having zones of a cooler temperature which are adapted to be in registry with the portions of the film carrying the graphics or by covering the portions of the heated platen in registry with these graphics with an insulating material such as Teflon tape. The mouth of the cavity can then be closed by sealing to another flexible polymeric film.

  • Patent number: 7637829
Abstract: An eccentric pivot arm tensioner capable of automatic belt tensioning and substantially simultaneous operating range indexing during installation. The tensioner comprises a stop plate and cooperating lock plate. The tensioner comprises a pivot arm having a pivot arm member that cooperatively engages a base plate member. In a first, or transit mode, the pivot arm member temporarily engages the base plate member to put a torsion spring and thereby the pivot arm in a preloaded condition. The lock plate is engaged with the stop plate. As a mounting fastener is engaged into a mounting surface the pivot arm member is automatically disengaged from the base plate member by an axial movement of the pivot arm, thereby allowing the pivot arm to rotate and thereby impart a torsion spring force to a belt, i.e., tensioning the belt in an operating position.

  • Patent number: 7189387
Abstract: Translucent anhydrous formulations containing particulate commercially available activated aluminium chlorohydrate (AACH) have a perceptible yellowness. The yellowness of translucent anhydrous compositions containing AACH can be ameliorated or eliminated whilst retaining the improved antiperspirant efficacy of AACH by controlling its water content to the range of 9 to 18%. The appearance of yellow formulations in or on a dispensing package, prior to application to the body, can appear to be neutralised to the human eye by employing a dispenser having a complementary colour in wall contacting the formulation, to promote achromicity. The complementary colour of the wall is dark green for yellow formulations.

  • Patent number: 7134248
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a pre-cast panel form insert used in precast construction. The insert comprises a substantially planar portion defining dimensions suitable to complement dimensions of a pre-cast panel form and a fluid diverting portion. The fluid diverting portion is configured to define a fluid-diverting recess in an edge face of a pre-cast panel bounded by a form including the form insert. The fluid diverting portion is configured such that said fluid diverting recess defines, a circular cross-sectional profile, or a multi-angular cross-sectional profile, that impedes the flow of water along said pre-cast panel edge face when said edge face assumes a substantially horizontal orientation.
