Abstract: A cabinet (10) for housing electronic equipment includes a first vertical frame member (12) and a second vertical frame member (14) connected to an upper horizontal frame member (16), a lower horizontal frame member (18), and an intermediate horizontal frame member (20). The upper horizontal frame member (16) includes input/output ports (26) for receiving external cables for passing telecommunications signals. The upper horizontal frame member (16) also includes a recess to slidably receive an air filter assembly. The lower horizontal frame member (18) has reinforced joints for seismic protection. The intermediate horizontal frame member (20) includes integrated ports (40) for internal cable routing and a similar recess (42) for slidably receiving an air filter assembly. A cable tube (24) is connected to the first vertical frame member (12) and the second vertical frame member (14).

Abstract: A storage shelf (10) is provided for accommodating excess lengths of a plurality of optical cables (40) connected to and extending from electronic equipment. The storage shelf (10) includes a shelf housing (12) with an open front and two substantially vertical side walls (24, 26). The excess length of each optical cable (40) is coiled about the spool (42) formed in a cable storage cartridge (16). The storage cartridge (16) can be slidably inserted in the shelf housing (12) and stacked vertically therein. Each cable storage cartridge (12) has two opposable members (50, 52) closeable about a self hinge (56). The cable storage cartridge (16) further has two cable exit ports (44, 46) for allowing the two ends of the optical cable (40) to extend therethrough out of the cartridge (16) for connection with the telecommunications equipment.

Abstract: Coolant containment apparatus for a rolling mill in which aqueous coolant liquid is sprayed onto the upper and lower work roll surfaces by upper and lower spray heads only on the exit side of the mill, including an enclosure maintained at subatmospheric pressure and surrounding the upper spray head and adjacent upper work roll and backup roll surfaces, upper and lower air dam members extending along the edges of the enclosure above and below the spray head to define narrow air gaps at the roll surfaces, slippers connected to ends of the dam members and in rubbing contact with the rolls to maintain the gap widths constant, and seal members mounted on the roll supports at the ends of the mill and cooperating with the enclosure to confine the enclosure interior.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for producing heat weldable, thermoplastic, tubular pipe fittings for use with heat weldable piping or tubing using a core in a molding machine having at least one pivoted segment collapsible inwardly of the core, each segment bearing radial projections to facilitate winding a heater wire and/or to receive a terminal post during the molding operation.

Abstract: Welding muffs for joining thermoplastic pipes are molded using a core in which are placed terminals supported by plastic posts which may be removable and/or frangible so that when the cores are withdrawn the plastic posts do not prevent withdrawal.
