  • Patent number: 4823965
Abstract: A portable compactly stored cord rack and carrier assembly is set forth. A flexible wood carrier formed of canvas or leather-like material is provided with opposed handles at terminal ends thereof and supportably enables transport of firewood whereby the accompanying foldable rack provides cradled support thereof. Said rack comprises a scissor-like pair of pivoted framework members formed with flexible strap elements securing opposed horizontal structural portions for support and reinforcement of the firewood carrier.

  • Patent number: 4322720
Abstract: A display device formed as a multilayer panel. The display is built up of d.c. electroluminescent display elements arranged in cells each containing an array of elements, e.g. for the display of a character. A display element is selected and caused to start luminescing by (a) a flash of light from a cell selector d.c. electroluminescent element which lowers the resistance of a group of associated photoconductors in series with the display elements, and (b) an energizing pulse applied, in the cell in question, to one of the display elements through its photoconductor. Once initiated, luminescence is maintained by an energizing voltage applied through a photoconductor radiatively coupled to the element. The information written in a cell is selectively erased as a whole by a further flash from the cell-selector element, which reduces the voltage applied to the lit elements of the cell to the point at which luminescence ceases.

  • Patent number: 4233601
Abstract: A system for displaying data, especially graphics data in color or grey scale on a raster-scanned display device. The information to be displayed is supplied in a coded representation in which a run of a new display value is represented by a transition code element representing at least the display value of the first picture element of the run, followed by a run-length code indicating the length of the segment of picture elements following the element or elements represented by the transition code. The coded representation is decoded to drive a display device.

  • Patent number: 4084261
Abstract: A graphic display apparatus in which the data to be displayed is stored as two types of data word, one type representing groups of increments of beam displacement of a beam displacement tube and the other representing differences between the data constituting a raster line and that of next succeeding line. The data for each line formed from the first type of words is temporarily stored in a line store while being displayed on the tube. The contents of the line store are modified according to any second type words received during the display period so as to convert the stored data into that for the next line to be displayed.
