  • Publication number: 20190242042
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed related to flexible fibrous surface-treating articles with low formaldehyde off-gassing. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a flexible fibrous surface-treating article including an open, lofty, nonwoven web including fibers. The flexible fibrous surface-treating article also includes a binder that coats the fibers of the nonwoven web. The binder includes a cured product of a curable composition including a latex and a crosslinker. The flexible fibrous surface-treating article heated to 65° C. in a closed space for 30 minutes emits less than about 6 micrograms of gaseous formaldehyde total per gram of the flexible fibrous surface-treating article.

  • Patent number: 9771675
Abstract: Nonwoven fibrous webs including randomly oriented discrete fibers defining a multiplicity of non-hollow projections extending from a major surface of the nonwoven fibrous web (as considered without the projections), and a plurality of substantially planar land areas formed between each adjoining projection in a plane defined by and substantially parallel with the major surface. In some exemplary embodiments, the randomly oriented discrete fibers include multi-component fibers having at least a first region having a first melting temperature and a second region having a second melting temperature, wherein the first melting temperature is less than the second melting temperature. At least a portion of the oriented discrete fibers are bonded together at a plurality of intersection points with the first region of the multi-component fibers. In certain embodiments, the patterned air-laid nonwoven fibrous webs include particulates.

  • Publication number: 20040091674
Abstract: Mats for use on, e.g., floors that combine the desirable compression and resilience associated with anti-fatigue mats are disclosed. The mats provide a combination of compression and resilience while also typically exhibiting a resistance to movement or shifting due to the application of uneven loads such as those applied by individuals walking on the mats. The mats include a plurality of elastic compressible elements attached to each other by separate land portions or by a continuous base sheet. The elements may be hollow tubular structures that include an open slot having a slot width that has a dimension relative to the element width. In embodiments including a continuous base sheet, the elements may have a contact width with the base sheet that is narrower than the element width.

  • Patent number: 6132844
Abstract: An adhesive backed article, method for its manufacture and a kit including such an article are provided. The article of the invention is provided as an antislip product comprised of a backing and an oil resistant adhesive applied to a major surface of the backing. In one aspect of the invention, an article is provided comprising: a backing having a first and second major surfaces, the first major surface being textured to provide a slip resistant surface; and a pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on the second major surface of the backing, the adhesive formulated to be resistant to peel in use when exposed to oily environments, the adhesive comprising the polymerized reaction product of (a) acrylic acid; (b) at least one N-vinyl containing monomer; (c) at least one acrylate selected from the group consisting of isooctyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, and combinations thereof; (d) optionally, less than about 20 weight % fluoroalkyl siloxane; and (e) optionally, a cross linking agent.
