  • Publication number: 20180360155
Abstract: A protective device for use with a helmet, for example a sporting helmet, has a plurality of removable and replaceable resilient deformable sacrificial bubble structures adapted to be installed on a helmet to absorb an impact force when the impact force impacts the bubble structures. The bubble structures can also provide an indication of location and severity of the impact force on the helmet. In one embodiment, a helmet cover for wearing over an outer surface of a helmet has a base layer capable of being fitted over the outer surface of the helmet and a plurality of removeable and replaceable bubble structures contained in the base layer.

  • Publication number: 20110205185
Abstract: A computing device, such as a desktop, laptop, tablet computer, a mobile device, or a computing device integrated into another device (e.g., an entertainment device for gaming, a television, an appliance, kiosk, vehicle, tool, etc.) is configured to determine user input commands from the location and/or movement of one or more objects in a space. The object(s) can be imaged using one or more optical sensors and the resulting position data can be interpreted in any number of ways to determine a command. Signal conditioning logic (or a programmable CPU) can be used to facilitate detection by performing at least some image processing in hardware before the image is provided by the imaging device, such as by a hardware-implemented ambient subtraction, infinite impulse response (IIR) or finite impulse response (FIR) filtering, background-tracker-based touch detection, or the like.

  • Publication number: 20110205186
Abstract: A computing device, such as a desktop, laptop, tablet computer, a mobile device, or a computing device integrated into another device (e.g., an entertainment device for gaming, a television, an appliance, kiosk, vehicle, tool, etc.) is configured to determine user input commands from the location and/or movement of one or more objects in a space. The object(s) can be imaged using one or more optical sensors and the resulting position data can be interpreted in any number of ways to determine a command. During a first sampling iteration, a range of pixels can be identified from a location of a feature of the object, with the range used in sampling from the at least one imaging device during a second iteration based on the data sampled during the first iteration.

An interactive volume can be defined and adjusted so that the same movement at different locations within the volume may result in different corresponding movement of a cursor or other interpretations of input.

  • Publication number: 20040069153
Abstract: An apparatus for producing cereal cakes or the like by a process of heating and expanding, comprising: a rotatable heatable platten 102 defining a plurality of moulds 104, a plurality of displaceable moulding tools 106, 108 for communicating with the platten, wherein as the platten is rotated, successive moulds are heated and closed by the moulding tools to produce a continuous supply of cereal cakes. The invention provides for the continuous production of granular cereal crackers or cakes. It has the advantage of improved yield per unit time, and thus reduced cost per unit.
