  • Publication number: 20240382634
Abstract: Flexible diffuse-reflective smart camber (FDRSC) devices are disclosed herein. The devices include UV-C lights sources and an irradiance chamber. The irradiance chamber is open on at least one end through which the plants to be treated are exposed to the UV-C irradiance. Further, the inner surfaces of the irradiance chamber are covered by or consist of a diffuse reflective material that passively intensifies and uniformly distributes the UV-C irradiance to penetrate plant canopies. Also described herein are autonomous vehicles for moving the FDRSC devices across fields of crops and other plants. which is controlled in real time by a dosing control system. Also described herein are methods of in-situ UV-C treatment of plants using the FDRSC devices.

  • Publication number: 20060169426
Abstract: The present invention is an insect screen with improved durability designed to serve the primary purpose of keeping out very small insects and pests while maximizing visual clarity, light transmission, and airflow. The insect screen is free from macroscopic permanent deformation when subjected to a blunt instrument deformation test of at least 5 lbs. and has a total light transmission of at least 65%. The inventive insect screen comprises fibers in a warp and fill construction which define openings having a warp dimension and a fill dimension, both of said warp and fill dimensions being equal to or less than about 0.06 inches and equal to or larger than about 0.01 inches, the fibers having a diameter less than about 0.007 inches.

  • Patent number: 4747092
Abstract: In conventional audio disc playback apparatus the pick up arm is mounted on the turntable baseplate. Thus, the pick up arm is subject to vibration produced by the rotation of the turntable and its associated motor.Sound reproduction apparatus comprises a turntable 1, a pick up arm 2 and clamp apparatus 3 for attachment of the pick up arm 2 to a wall 4. The clamp apparatus 3 comprises a wall mounting bracket 5, a length adjustment tube 6, a distance bar 7 and a pick up arm clamp fork 8. Locknuts 9a, 9b and 9c are also provided and the clamp fork 8 has a pair of lockable adjusters 10.In use, the wall mounting bracket 5 is fixed to a wall by way of screws. The length adjustment tube 6 is attached to the bracket 5 and the distance bar 7 and locked in position by locknuts 9a and 9b. The clamp fork 8 is fixed to the distance bar 7 and the pick up arm 2 is fixed to the clamp fork 8 by way of the lockable adjusters 10.
