  • Patent number: 8960637
Abstract: An electronically controlled stepper motor valve utilizes an electric feed through assembly providing electrical connection between the stepper motor and a mating cable connector; wherein the electric feed through assembly includes four individual leads that are sequenced to allow the mating cable connector to be installed in any of four positions, each 90 degrees apart. The ability to use a 90 degree elbow style cable connector allows the EEV footprint to be minimized which provides an advantage when the electric expansion valve is installed in the tight confines of a package system.

  • Patent number: 6397903
Abstract: Apparatus and method for monitoring pressure within a vapor recovery pathway of a vapor recovery fuel system including pressure transducer linked to a radio frequency (RF) transponder. The pressure transducer detects changes in vapor pressure within a vapor recovery pathway pressure and the RF transponder relays the information to a remote site for monitoring. The radio frecuency transponder can be housed within as spacer between the vapor recovery hose and the nozzle, mounted in the nozzle itself, the fuel delivery hose, or externally to any of these elements. The detected changes in vapor line pressure can be relayed to any of the fuel dispenser to actuate adjustments in the dispensing system such as vapor recovery pump speed or other parameters.

  • Patent number: 6394139
Abstract: An elliptical expansion plug for plugging elliptical openings. The elliptical expansion plug has a concave inner surface and a convex outer surface sized to allow hand-fitting within an elliptical hole to be plugged. The size of the elliptical expansion plug is such that the elliptical expansion plug generally matches the shape of the elliptical opening to be plugged, and further sized to provide a continuous seal between the outer edge of the elliptical expansion plug and the inner surface of the elliptical opening to be plugged after installation of the elliptical expansion plug. When the convex outer surface is eliminated by deforming the elliptical expansion plug with tools such as a hammer and punch until the convex outer surface is flat, the outer edge of the elliptical expansion plug comes into continuous contact with, and provides a continuous seal against, the inside circumference of the elliptical opening to be plugged.

  • Patent number: 6192934
Abstract: A vapor recovery breakaway hose coupling for use in conjunction with a vapor recovery nozzle and for application within a fuel line, that prevents untimely decoupling, that incorporates a secondary seal that is located between the fuel and vapor passages to maintain clean o-ring sealing and sliding surfaces by preventing fuel and/or contaminates from contracting the primary fuel to vapor o-ring when the valve is in a non-emergency situation, an interference bump is incorporated which imparts a shock to the fuel check valve during separation and unbalanced check valve springs that maintains a static seal to reduce o-ring fretting, and primary fuel to vapor o-ring relocation.

  • Patent number: 6182695
Abstract: A coupler is provided which is mountable to a fitting of a breakaway coupling to facilitate assembly and disassembly of the coupling. The coupling has a first fitting and a second fitting which are held together by a ball in the first fitting which is received in a detent in the second fitting. The second fitting has an outer sleeve on which the detent is formed, and an inner sleeve slideable in the outer sleeve. A latch ring on the inner sleeve is alignable with the groove. A spring biases the inner sleeve and latch ring into a locking position in which the detent balls are urged into engagement with the detent to hold the two fittings together. The coupler includes an open ended housing having a side wall and an end wall. A plate, securable to the second fitting inner sleeve, is received in the coupler housing for axial movement. A cam on an outer surface of the housing end wall is connected to the plate by a rod.

  • Patent number: 5967385
Abstract: An external bushing for the outlet end of a nozzle spout having a generally tubular body defining an inner cavity which includes a first section and a concentric second section. There is a first open end at the first section and a second open end at the second section. The second section has an end wall which slightly reduces the diameter of the second open end. The outside diameter of the first section is greater than the outside diameter of the second section. The inner diameter of the tubular body is generally constant from the first open end to the second open end and is approximately the same as the outside diameter of a dispensing nozzle spout. However there is groove formed in the inner surface of the tubular body at the approximate juncture of the first and second sections. The bushing is applied over the discharge end of a nozzle spout and attached by an internal swage operation which presses some spout material into the internal groove.
