  • Patent number: 6669041
Abstract: A service box for mounting in a floor includes a rigid container having walls and a lid for covering an upper opening in the container. The opening provides access into a cavity defined by the container. The container has access apertures in the walls for receiving service conduits such as cables, wires, or the like therethrough. The walls include sides which are closely adjacent the floor when the container is mounted in the floor. The container is adapted for mounting of service outlets in the cavity in service communication, that is, electrical communication or telecommunication with the service conduits. At least one recess is formed in the sides. Each recess has a side opening exposing the recess horizontally outwardly of the sides. An elongate first threaded member such as a bolt is rotatably and generally vertically mounted within each recess.

  • Patent number: 6338301
Abstract: A telecommunication, data including audio and visual data, and electrical station which can be permanently mounted within an aperture formed in a board room table includes a container having a perimeter flange which supports the station within the table. The container also has separate compartments for electrical plug-ins and data and telecommunication jacks. The upper face of the compartments are tilted toward the user for ease of attaching plugs and jacks. A lid pivots between a closed position flush and coplanar with the table surface and an open position fully rotated below the surface of the table so as to permit unrestricted access by the user to the interior of the station.

  • Patent number: 5744750
Abstract: An assembly for housing electrical outlets includes a junction box for mounting in a recess in a wall or floor, a ring for mounting on the open top or outer end of the box, at least one pair of opposed recesses in the ring for receiving an electrical outlet, a cover plate for covering the area of the ring containing the outlet, and a face plate for surrounding the cover plate and limiting access thereto. The cover plate, face plate and the mounting ring have snap in locking systems. Notches in the mounting ring permit disengagement of the cover plate locking system using a lever. The notches are normally covered by the face plate. The assembly is easy to install, and discourages tampering.
