Abstract: A stepping motor control method, comprising the step of magnetising at least one of a number of teeth within the stepping motor to move a rotor of the stepping motor into a position such that it contacts or maintains contact with a mechanical stop, wherein a first tooth is generally aligned with the mechanical stop and at least one of the teeth is magnetised such that a rotational force acts to urge the rotor in only a direction towards the mechanical stop, thereby resetting the position of the rotor.
