Patent number: 8786137Abstract: A digital wiring device including a user interface panel, a digital display, and a paddle including a transparent portion to reveal the digital display and an opaque portion to cover the user interface panel. The paddle rotates from a first closed position to a second open position. A digital “schedule-at-a-glance” may be provided so that a user can quickly assess a schedule of events. The digital wiring device may include a back light to illuminate the digital display. The paddle may be operatively associated with the back light. A battery may provide an electrical current to power the digital wiring device in a battery backup mode, and the back light may be disabled based on the mode. The user interface panel may be used to schedule events or otherwise configure the digital wiring device.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2009Date of Patent: July 22, 2014Assignee: Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventors: Cheng-Lung Chou, Paul Soccoli, David Klamer, Paul Duckworth, Gordon Stannis, Joel Van Faasen

Publication number: 20070170823Abstract: A display cabinet with modular slide door is adapted to house a video display device. A cabinet top is spaced above a base, and is generally aligned with the base. The door is slidably connected with the top and adapted to selectively conceal and reveal the display device. The cabinet may have left and right module sections, each of a modular width. The door preferably has the same modular width and may slide from one section to the other and alternatively reveal or conceal each section. The cabinet may further have a center section of two modular widths and a second modular slide door. The center section may define a display space. The modular slide doors may alternatively slide to conceal the display space, revealing the left and right module sections, and slide to reveal the display space, concealing the left and right module sections.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 20, 2006Publication date: July 26, 2007Inventors: Gordon Stannis, Dirk VanZalen, Ralph Byma, Timothy Sweet, Jeffrey Pulver

Patent number: 7022024Abstract: A display and method for bowling centers and the like includes at least one bowling lane having a base member with an approach area, pin deck area and lane area extending therebetween. A generally transparent synthetic sheet member is positioned over at least a portion the base member, and has a leading edge attached to the base member to retain the sheet member in an overlying relationship with the base member, leaving at least a portion of the sheet member unattached to define an insert area. At least one display card with in a generally thin profile is inserted between the sheet member and the base member at the insert area, such that the indicia are visible through and protected by the sheet, with the weight of the sheet member retaining the display card in place to facilitate easy insertion and removal of the display card to provide varied displays.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2004Date of Patent: April 4, 2006Assignee: Brunswick Bowling & Billiards CorporationInventors: Ted A.
