  • Patent number: 6386914
Abstract: An electrical connector has both grounded cables, such a coaxial or triaxial cables, and ungrounded cables or lines. A metallic outer connector body (200) has bores (270) for the grounded cables, which are held in place in the connector body with retainer clips (400). The retainer clips snap into place in spaces (244) inside the outer connector body and the contacts snap into the retainer clips. The center of the outer connector body accepts an inner connector body 100, which is dielectric.

  • Patent number: 4500154
Abstract: A latch member (46) pivotally disposed externally of a coupling nut (40) rotatably mounted on one shell (10) for threadably connecting to another shell (20), the latch member and having an end portion (50) thereof extending forwardly of the coupling nut, mating tapered surfaces (55, 30) formed on an inner face (55) of the latch member and annularly around the other shell and longitudinally and radially extending splines (39, 59) disposed around the mating tapered surfaces and configured to slidably interengage to prevent and/or resist uncoupling rotation, the latch member (46) pivoting and biasing the splines into engagement and being adapted to provide a manual release mechanism to laterally disengage the splines. The splines are so positioned by the latch member as to be normally out of engagement until full mating of the shells is achieved assembly.

  • Patent number: 4464001
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly including a pair of mating shells (100, 200) having end faces (122, 224) on dielectric inserts (110, 210) and a coupling nut (300) rotatably mounted on first shell (100), coupling nut (300) including an elongated a generally U-shaped passageway (142, 146, 144) sized to receive a coupling pin (280) on second shell (200), the passageway forming an integral cantilevered latch spring (160) of the type having adjacent its deflectable end a detent (162) for captivating the pin (280), rotation of coupling nut (300) bringing end faces (122, 224) into abutment to stop axial advance but permit continued rotation to allow coupling pin (280) to advance along the passageway to deflect latch spring (162) downwardly and reach the detent (162) whereupon latch spring (162) springs forwardly to captivate coupling pin (280) therein.

  • Patent number: 4241967
Abstract: A sealing grommet for sealing the wires extending from contacts, retained in a dielectric insert of an electrical connector assembly, to protect the contacts from moisture. The sealing grommet 19 has a plurality of axial passages 33 therethrough which communicate with axial bores 7 in the dielectric insert 3 which contains the contacts 5, and wires 27 pass through the passages 33. First sealing webs 37 and second sealing webs 39 extend inwardly from wall 35 towards the axis of the passages 33 and provide a moisture seal for contacts 5 contained within the insert 3 while providing for use of wires of varying diameters in a single grommet.
