  • Patent number: 4130302
Abstract: The invention provides a seal for pipe joint couplings, the present seal comprising a sleeve member receivable over the pipe joint and extending for a relatively short distance along each of the pipes. The seal further comprises an annular pressure chamber formed in the inner wall of the sleeve facing each of the pipes, the outer surface of each pipe acting to define the chamber, each pressure chamber being partially positioned into two sub-chambers by an inwardly extending annular bead formed on the sleeve, the sub-chambers each having packings such as O-rings disposed therein.

  • Patent number: 4073018
Abstract: An internal back vent system which includes a single vertical stack divided by concentric vertically disposed vent and drain pipes into a main central drain or waste passageway surrounded by an annular vent passageway. Adjacent the floors to be serviced, the vertical stack is provided with manifold assemblies which interconnect the ends of branch waste pipes to the main drain passageway while venting each branch pipe to the vent passageway. The manifold includes a plurality of radially extending connector pipes all communicating with the main drain passageway. These outwardly extending connector pipes are respectively connected to the branch waste pipes which form the drains of the various fixtures within the building. At each level, a corresponding number of upstanding, relatively short, vent pipes are disposed, circumferentially spaced, in the annular vent passageway and are respectively connected by their lower ends to the connector pipes.

  • Patent number: 4058859
Abstract: A water closet carrier of the type which supports an off-the-floor toilet, the carrier having a pair of upstanding slotted brackets which support a vertically disposed face plate, selectively positionable in angularly related positions with respect to the brackets. Racks along the inner surfaces of the slots cooperate with pinion nuts on the mounting studs of the face plate for vertically positioning the face plate. A branch pipe projects through the face plate and is clamped by an encircling strap to tabs projecting from the face plate. The pipe, in turn, is clamped, by an O-ring and a compression plate, to the discharge port of the toilet carried on the opposite side of a wall by the mounting studs.

  • Patent number: 3933377
Abstract: A hanger assembly for pipe joints which includes a pipe joint coupling and a removable stabilizer for connecting the coupling to the hanger bar. The stabilizer includes a saddle sandwiched between the shield and the clamping bands of the coupling. The shield, in turn, surrounds the resilient sleeve into which the ends of the pipes project. The saddle is formed from a pair of thin arcuate saddle plates, the outer edges of which are provided with outwardly projecting alignment tabs.An outwardly projecting flat lug on the saddle is formed from a pair of flat rectangular opposed lug elements joined at their distal ends along a common edge and respectively joined to the saddle plates at their proximal ends. The lug has a hole for receiving a securing bolt which passes both through the lug and through an eyelet, at one end of the hanger rod. The other end of the hanger rod is anchored to the supporting structure.
