  • Publication number: 20160208347
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the removal of contaminants from a liquor, the process comprising: introducing a metal or ammonium hydroxide into the liquor; introducing the liquor into a reaction vessel; bubbling a carbon dioxide gas comprising at least 25% carbon dioxide through the liquor within the reaction vessel; and separating the precipitate formed by the carbonatation of the metal hydroxide from the liquor, the precipitate comprising at least some of the contaminants from the liquor; wherein, on average, the liquor is resident within the reaction vessel for a period of no more than about 60 minutes. The invention also relates to a process for the removal of contaminants from a liquor, the process comprising: introducing a metal or ammonium hydroxide into the liquor and bubbling a carbon dioxide gas comprising at least 25% carbon dioxide through the liquor to form a precipitate by carbonatation in a period of no more than about 60 minutes.

  • Publication number: 20150128873
Abstract: The application discloses a multi-chamber, multi-formulation fluid delivery system, comprising a multi-chamber applicator in fluid communication with multi-chamber packaging. Applicators according to the instant disclosure have reduced squeeze-strength requirements, and are useful for dispensing fluids, including medicaments, to animals, including livestock animals. The multi-chamber packaging provides separate storage for formulations containing incompatible active ingredients, and is suitable for use with the multi-chamber applicator. The application also discloses methods for using the system to simultaneously deliver multiple active ingredients, at least some of which are not suitable for co-formulation, thus reducing the time, economic burden and animal stress involved with applying multiple, separate formulations to animals.

  • Patent number: 9020886
Abstract: A diagnostic tool comprises a memory device which stores a database of parametric performance data of a collection of transaction terminals possibly owned by different entities. Each time the tool is authorized to connect to a transaction terminal the database is accessed by a processor and a determination is made whether one or more parameter of the transaction terminal lies within a threshold amount of a statistical measure based upon the parametric performance data of the collection of transaction terminals.

  • Patent number: 8945070
Abstract: A trigger operated syringe (100) for intramammary injection of antibiotics has a fluid containing syringe cartridge (203) activated by a plunger (206) which is inserted into the syringe cartridge (203A) and expels fluid when the trigger (205) is pulled. A syringe cartridge holding mechanism (223) holds the syringe cartridge in place until the trigger (205) is released and the plunger (206) retracted. Single syringe cartridge (203) and multiple syringe cartridge (204) versions are disclosed. The plunger moves in a direction which is effectively perpendicular to the direction of movement of the trigger, allowing for ease of injection to a cow's teats, and ejection of the spent cartridges.

  • Patent number: 8599764
Abstract: Techniques for transmitting overhead information to facilitate efficient reception of individual data streams are described. A base station may transmit multiple data streams on multiple data channels (or MLCs). The MLCs may be transmitted at different times and on different frequency subbands. The time-frequency location of each MLC may change over time. The overhead information indicates the time-frequency location of each MLC and may be sent as “composite” and “embedded” overhead information. The composite overhead information indicates the time-frequency locations of all MLCs and is sent periodically in each super-frame. A wireless device receives the composite overhead information, determines the time-frequency location of each MLC of interest, and receives each MLC at the indicated time-frequency location.

  • Patent number: 7703776
Abstract: Tall, lightweight folding shopping cart (FIG. 1) provides high-level detachable basket (44U) for easy basket transfers down to checkout counter, car trunk and home counter or table. Basket-support ledges (43U and 43L) on cart enable transfer of basket weight by sliding leverage rather than by lifting. Additional container (44L) increases cart capacity and flexibility in use. With baskets removed, cart serves as an all-purpose vehicle, ready to carry a strapped-on golf bag, luggage (FIG. 6), garden materials, furniture and other household burdens. Its lightweight folding character encourages new uses where carts have rarely gone before. On a family camping trip, for example, it can carry a folded tent to the campsite, and later deliver an ice chest of drinks and a food basket to the beach. Wheels (36L and 36R) are mounted for quick detachment to increase the storage compactness of an unloaded cart.
