  • Patent number: 6489878
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a magnetic power component and to a magnetic power component. The component comprises a multi-layer coil (1) which consists of several windings disposed in the layers, first and second electrical conductors (5, 6) which are electrically connected to the selected windings, and a first and a second core part (7, 8) which are arranged to direct magnetism to the windings. The first side (2) of the multi-layer coil (1) is provided with a cavity (9) and the first core part (7) is at least partially mounted in the cavity.

  • Publication number: 20020030958
Abstract: This invention relates to the protection against over-voltage situations in a telecommunications network. Especially, the invention relates to fault situations that are generated by a power distribution network. The idea of the invention is to protect the telecommunication equipment against any overvoltage caused by an external source. The invention uses a detector core around cables through which a common mode fault current goes. The subscriber line cables or the power & ground cables form a primary coil in a transformer. The transformer's secondary coil forms an output current, preferably for converting equipment that converts the fault current information into a suitable form for operational devices that perform a desired protection action.

  • Patent number: 6144572
Abstract: The present invention relates to a printed circuit board arrangement comprising a printed circuit board and a power supply module to be attached to the printed circuit board for supplying operating voltage to the printed circuit board. To allow a proper operating voltage to be generated for the printed circuit board with no need for manual adjustment, the power supply module comprises a control connector and regulator means responsive to the control connector for regulating the output voltage of the power supply module. The printed circuit board also comprises means for connecting at least one out-connector of the power supply module to the control connector through a predetermined component, whereby the output voltage of the power supply module is responsive to the electric properties of said component.

  • Patent number: 6069548
Abstract: The invention relates to a planar transformer arrangement for an electric circuit located on a circuit board. The arrangement comprises (a) a first circuit board (PCB1) on which said electric circuit has been implemented, (b) a supplementary circuit board piece (PCB2), (c) a primary winding which comprises at least one substantially planar conductive pattern formed on a circuit board, (d) a secondary winding which comprises at least one substantially planar conductive pattern formed on a circuit board, and (e) a transformer core (F1, F2) which surrounds the primary and secondary windings at least partially. To create an inexpensive but efficient transformer structure suitable for use in an automatic manufacturing process, both the primary and the secondary windings have been formed on the supplementary circuit board piece (PCB2).
