Patent number: 5747741Abstract: A screw terminal for an electrical connection of an eye of a cable comprises a casing, a first clamping plate axially movably but not rotatably mounted in the casing, the axial movement of the first clamping plate being limited by an inner surface of the casing. The first clamping plate defines a taphole and has laterally bent up, axially extending spring tongues. A second clamping plate is fixedly mounted in the casing, the second clamping plate defining a taphole axially aligned with the tap hole in the first clamping plate. A clamping screw axially moves the first clamping plate between a closed position and an open position limited by the inner casing surface wherein the space between the first clamping plate and the second clamping plate has a maximum axial length.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1996Date of Patent: May 5, 1998Assignee: Hubert Laurenz NaimerInventor: Ing. Patent number: 5249989Abstract: An electrical screw-on terminal assembly is provided for a connection to wires or cables, particularly those with eye connectors. The terminal assembly has a housing and a screw which, as it is screwed in, passes through a first plate, and when fully screwed in, a second plate. The first plate is mounted so that it cannot rotate or be moved longitudinally, while the second plate is mounted so that it can be moved longitudinally but not rotated. When the terminal is completely open, the second plate abuts a stop on the housing and is held in this position by a resistive force, which can be overcome by the screw, so that the aperture onto which the cable or cable eye is inserted remains unobstructed. The screw can be screwed into a bore in the first plate until it engages the second plate. The bore in the first plate has no internal thread, but has projections which engage the screw threads.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1991Date of Patent: October 5, 1993Assignee: Hubert L. Patent number: 5055644Abstract: In a snap locking mechanism for rotary switches an operating shaft (4) operable by a switch handle can be rotated against the force of an energy-storage mechanism and each lock-in position is occupied with at least partial release of the energy-storage mechanism. The energy-storage mechanism is formed by axially acting compression springs (8) and acts on a driver ring (6) exhibiting slopes in the peripheral direction which interacts with another driver ring (13), couplable with the operating shaft, exhibiting a corresponding counterprofile with slopes. A coupling for dragged slaving (28, 29) is provided between the two driver rings (6, 13). Handle-side driver ring (6) carries stops (11) on its front facing away from these slopes, which interact with counterstops (12), integral with the housing, when they reach the snap position of the locking mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1990Date of Patent: October 8, 1991Assignee: Hubert L. Patent number: 4901046Abstract: In a manually actuated on-off switch with electromagnetic release, a component part (9) opening and closing the switch contacts and an actuating member, in particular a rotary control grip (2), are designed as separate parts and for being coupled, noting that the component part (9) opening and closing the switch contacts is loaded by a spring in direction out of the take-along position for the closing movement. The component part (9) and the actuating member (2,6) are at least at their mutually facing front surfaces or, respectively, engaging surfaces (7a, 8a) formed of a material being conductive for the magnetic flux and are designed for being coupled one with the other in a force-locking manner by means of the electromagnet. The coil (10) of the electromagnet is, in this case, preferably arranged for being put to voltage via auxiliary contacts (16).Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1988Date of Patent: February 13, 1990Assignee: Hubert Laurenz NaimerInventor: Gottfried Alsch

Patent number: 4573029Abstract: A switch comprises switch members movable in an operating direction for opening and closing an electric circuit, a solenoid drive for moving the switch members in the operating direction, the solenoid drive comprising an armature having an operating movement normal to the operating direction of the switch members and a core, a push rod whereto the switch members are coupled for movement therewith, the push rod comprising a gear rack, and a pinion segment meshing with the gear rack. The push rod and the pinion segment are located between the armature and the core and are surrounded thereby, the pinion segment is pivotal about an axis extending transversely to the push rod and is engaged by the armature, the operating movement of the armature pivoting the pinion segment and moving the push rod and switch members coupled thereto in the operating direction.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 1984Date of Patent: February 25, 1986Inventors: Hubert L. Patent number: 4503412Abstract: A switching mechanism in a star-delta-switch with a rotatable and axially displaceable switch-shaft prevents rotation of the switch-shaft from the off- to the delta-connection position in the direction of rotation from the delta-connection to the off-position in one of the axial positions while axial displacement of the switch-shaft to another axial position enables the switch-shaft to be rotated from the off- to the delta-connection, rotation of the switch-shaft in the other axial position causing the switching mechanism to reset to the one axial position.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 1983Date of Patent: March 5, 1985Assignee: Hubert Laurenz NaimerInventor: Gottfried Alsch

Patent number: 4390855Abstract: The disclosure relates to a resetting device on a rotary switch for resetting the latter when the mains voltage falls below a predetermined limiting value, in which an electromagnet connectable to the power supply and equipped with an armature is provided, and this armature releases or blocks, in dependence on the state of excitement of the magnet, a return mechanism which subjects the rotary switch to a resetting from a switching position into a definite starting position. With such a resetting device, the armature (8) of the electromagnet (7) controls at least one displaceable blocking tappet (13), which blocking tappet, in the case of a switch located in a switching position different from its starting position and with the armature (8) pulled up, rests against a projection (19) or engages into a depression of at least one restoring mechanism (16, 16') loaded by a return spring (21,22) and in drive connection with the drive or switch shaft (1).Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1981Date of Patent: June 28, 1983Assignee: Hubert Laurenz NaimerInventor: Gottfried Alsch

Patent number: 4360719Abstract: A rotary switch comprising a rotatable driving shaft and a coaxial driven switching shaft has a coupling arranged between the shafts for indexing the rotary movement of the switching shaft in response to the rotation of the driving shaft. The coupling includes driving and driven coupling parts respectively keyed to the driving and driven shaft, the coupling parts having peripheries coaxial with the shafts. A spring having two ends respectively engaging the coupling parts is tensioned in the direction of the coupling part peripheries and a blocking device controlled by the rotary position of the shafts in relation to each other respectively blocks and unblocks the rotary movement of the driven coupling part.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1980Date of Patent: November 23, 1982Assignee: Hubert Laurenz NaimerInventor: Gottfried Alsch
