  • Patent number: 8132993
Abstract: Screw connection for a fixed connection of two assemblies which are mounted to each other in a variable position, using a connecting member penetrated by a screw. The connecting member is mounted between the assemblies by means of a self-cutting screw penetrating the connecting member and one of the assemblies, which screw is grooving its thread into both parts in such a way that, starting from a stable end position of the one assembly and the connecting member, the screw is adapted to be screwed into the connecting member as well as into the one assembly by means of thread grooves such that, by means of the self-cutting thread of the screw, the connecting member and the one assembly are held in a fixed position with respect to each other, and the other assembly is fastened directly to the connecting member.

  • Publication number: 20090311075
Abstract: The invention relates to a self-tapping drill screw that is screwable into a sheet piece and comprises a slotted head for accommodating a tool, a threaded shank, a slightly conically tapering hole-forming part and a hole-grinding part having a conical piece. The hole-grinding part has a radial shoulder that forms a hole and coaxially surrounds the conical piece, engagable with the sheet piece, in a ring-like manner, has a much larger diameter than the conical piece and merges with the hole-forming part via a rounded annular edge.

  • Patent number: 7018153
Abstract: The invention relates to a plastic nut to be fitted to a component having an aperture, which, with a nut piece serving to hold a screw, can be plugged into the aperture and which, in order to bear on one side of the component, is provided with a flange which has a through hole for the screw and, on its side facing the component, has a sealing washer and, in order to bear on the other side of the component, is provided with snap-action hooks which, after insertion, spread out as the screw is tightened in the accommodation hole in the plastic nut and therefore secure the plastic nut to the component. The sealing washer has at its outer rim a shoulder which encloses the flange and projects beyond the thickness of the latter and, from its inner rim, merges into a collar which projects into the through hole.

  • Patent number: 7014405
Abstract: The invention relates to a plastic nut for mounting on a component having a penetration, said plastic nut being insertable into the penetration with a nut piece having a receiving hole for a screw and being provided with a flange for contact with one side of the component and with snap-on hooks for contact with the other side of the component, said snap-on hooks securing the plastic nut to the component, wherein, when in the relaxed position, said snap-on hooks on the one hand conform in their radial extent to the internal dimension of the penetration and on the other hand cover the receiving hole and spread apart when the screw is inserted and position themselves opposite the component.

  • Patent number: 6863483
Abstract: Screw provided with self-locking rolled thread, wherein, in a plurality of places along its extent, the thread is deformed in relation to the normal thread cross section in that the thread outside diameter is reduced by radial compression of limited thread portions, the area of the thread cross section being substantially identical to that of the undeformed thread. While maintaining the slant of the thread flanks, the thread cross section is symmetrically widened in the outer region and reduced in the adjoining inner region, the transition from the widened to the reduced thread cross section lying approximately in the centre of the respective thread flank, and the limited thread portion extends over two parts of a thread turn such that there result two symmetrically opposite thread portions each of approximately ? of the thread turn.

  • Patent number: 6659679
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for fastening a cathode ray tube on a covering frame, in the case of which a flat flange which is fastened on the cathode ray tube and is provided with a bore is screwed to the covering frame by a screw, via an internal thread. Arranged between the covering frame and flange is a compensating element which, in a position which is determined by the cathode ray tube butting against the covering frame, can be fixed in relation to the covering frame in that the compensating element interacts with an internal-thread-containing guide part of the covering frame.

  • Patent number: 6604901
Abstract: A cold-rolled screw which is intended for screwing into plastic has a narrow self-tapping thread with an inflection on at least one side of the thread so that the inner flank angle is smaller than the outer flank angle but still approximately equal to or larger than one third of the outer flank angle. In a second aspect, the screw thread has an end surface spaced from the free end of the screw to guide the plastic displaced by the thread during threading of the screw.

  • Patent number: 6340277
Abstract: Self-tapping screw having an at least partially non-round enveloping curve for the thread and having a penetrating section and a retaining section, it being the case that the penetrating section contains a plurality of successive thread stages which each have at least one thread turn and, along the thread stage, have essentially the same, aligned enveloping curve which runs either cylindrically or elliptically, the thread stages with an elliptical enveloping curve (elliptical thread stage) being combined such that the major axes of the successive elliptical thread stages, forming a stage group, are offset with respect to one another.
