  • Patent number: 5201198
Abstract: A slider needle for knitting machines has a needle body (1) with a hook (2), a slider (3) arranged to move in the needle body (1) and a swinging member articulated on the needle body (1) behind the hook (2). To avoid excessive travel when forming a stitch and to ensure the separation between the old stitch and the strand newly fed in, there is a spring (10) in the needle body which causes the swinging the member (4) to move away from the hook (2) so that one lateral edge (7) of the swinging member (4) is almost vertical.

  • Patent number: 4777808
Abstract: A cloth draw-off roller for flat knitting machines has individual roller elements rotatably mounted on a draw-off shaft and intermediate rings arranged with axial play relative thereto between the roller elements, which intermediate rings are rigidly secured to the draw-off shaft and are resiliently connected to respect roller elements. In order to ensure mutually independent operation of the roller elements, means are provided which establish a minimum axial spacing between mutually facing surfaces of axially sequential intermediate rings, which spacing is larger than the axial spacing of the two faces of the respective roller element coming into contact with these surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4526018
Abstract: A knitting cam unit and transfer cam unit combination for V-bed flat knitg machines wherein needle butts of the needle bodies of slider needles are selectively lowerable in the needle channels of the needle beds by means of a needle selection device, and wherein the slider needles have sliders provided with slider butts and arranged for the donation of stitches, comprises stationary and movable cam elements for engagement with the needle butts and the slider butts, and also comprises pressure cam elements. In order to be able to carry out any combination of stitch formation and tuck loop formation for each traverse of the carriage, and in order to be able to transfer any stitches, pure knitting cam units and transfer cam units are provided. These define cam channels for the butts arranged symmetrically with respect to each cam unit central transverse axis.

  • Patent number: 4448044
Abstract: A slider needle for knitting machines, particularly flat knitting machines, omprises a needle body with needle hook and needle butt, and a slider with a slider butt and mounted to be displaceable relative to the needle body. In order to produce a slider needle of simple construction with the needle butt capable of being depressed into the needle bed, the needle body consists of a guide shaft provided with a slot for receiving and guiding the slider and a flexible shaft extending from the guide shaft and projecting rearwardly from the guide shaft towards the needle butt, with the flexible shaft carrying the needle butt and being engageable from below in the needle channel by a tilting lever.

  • Patent number: 4448045
Abstract: A slider needle for knitting machines, particularly flat knitting machines, omprises a needle body with needle hook and at least one needle butt, and a slider equipped with slider foot and mounted to be displaceable relative to the needle body. In order to ensure trouble-free and reliable separation of the old stitches from newly laid yarn a short swivel detent is mounted on the needle body behind the needle hook. The length and shape of this swivel element is chosen so that in the normal position of the needle, with the needle hook closed by the slider, the swivel detent is masked by the slider in the vertical direction, while when the needle hook is open the swivel detent projects proud of the needle body and above the slider in both its end positions.

  • Patent number: 4402196
Abstract: A flat knitting machine with a carriage movable over the needle beds incls stroking-in wires mounted in holders on the carriage with free wire ends trailing in the direction of carriage traverse in front of the withdrawal positions of the needles. These wires are moved into and out of their working positions at the regions where the carriage reverses its direction of movement. In order to make possible a selectively controlled switching of the stroking-in wires into and out of effective operation, indexing cams engageable with entraining fingers on the holders are arranged on the machine frame to be displaceable perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of the needle beds, and lifting cams which can be switched into and out of action are mounted on the carriage for selective displacement of the indexing cams on the machine frame.

  • Patent number: 4333320
Abstract: A left-left flat knitting machine is comprised of two needle beds and kning needle sets arranged in a common plane, with needle hooks provided on both ends of the needles and with bars to activate the knitting needles in the needle bed channels of both needle beds. The knitting needles are formed as double hook needles 1 with two needle humps 10, 11 and the bars are formed as push bars 2, 5 composed of respective stitch transfer bars 3, 6 and tongue bars 4, 7 with integral feet. The structure assures simpler construction of the knitting needles and the tools which activate them and also enables the use of any desired knitting steps for the pattern. According to a further development of the double hook needle 1, a short control tongue 60, 61 is hingedly connected at each needle hump 10, 11.

  • Patent number: 4012927
Abstract: A flat knitting machine has two opposed needle beds and rigid loop expanders are provided on the needles. Loop transferring cam sets mounted on the traversing machine carriage include a transfer cam having at least three noses of which at least one is higher than the others. The higher nose lifts the needles sufficiently for the knitted loops held on the needles of one bed to be expanded on the loop expanders and the other noses complete transfer of the loops to the needles in the other bed. The loops open the latches of the receiving needles as they are transferred.
