  • Patent number: 4595569
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the desulfurization and denitration of flue gases by electron irradiation of the flue gases to which ammonia has been added prior to the irradiation, wherein for the electrons there are used low-energy sources of electron beams with an acceleration voltage for the electrons of 250 keV, only one of which has an electron exit window, the support lattice of which is formed from several double comb-like bridge elements disconnectably connected with the windowframe, each of which has a main bridge which is provided with a bore as cooling pipe.

  • Patent number: 4118410
Abstract: Organic higher functional polyisocyanates are obtained by separating a mixture containing isomers of diphenylmethane diisocyanate and higher functional polyisocyanates having more than two benzene rings. The mixture is distilled under vacuum at a pressure of between 10.sup.-3 and 10.sup.-1 mm/Hg. under conditions which avoid chemical change in the organic polyisocyanates contained in the mixture. The polyisocyanates are separated into two fractions with a desired first fraction containing said higher functional polyisocyanates with only a trace of the isomers which is less than about 6% of the weight of the first fraction and having a viscosity of more than 10,000 cp/25.degree. C. The second fraction consists essentially of said isomers and can be further purified by crystallization.

  • Patent number: 4108954
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for producing crosslinked elastomeric shaped polyurethane structures from crosslinked polyurethanes dissolved in solvents produced by the combination of the following steps:1. preparation of an NCO pre-adduct in a non-critical NCO/OH proportion from a treated polyol and the corresponding diisocyanate in a highly polar solvent;2. preparation of a solution containing crosslinked polyurethanes by introducing into the polymerization vessel a chain propagating and/or chain crosslinking agent and/or a combination thereof, and stirring into said vessel the NCO pre-adduct solution from step 1 such that the viscosity becomes an indication of the degree of the instantaneously occurring chain propagation and chain crosslinking reactions. In this way a solution is obtained which is at the borderline state between solution and gel and in which highly crosslinked polymer portions are uniformly distributed;3. molding;4. removal of the solvent by evaporation.

  • Patent number: 4060710
Abstract: A rigid electrical heating element having a thin, rigid, electrically insulating, air-impervious layer and a thick, insulating polyurethane layer formed in situ connected to said rigid layer by a conducting film based upon a synthetic resin, electrically conducting particles and potassium silicate or sodium silicate. Electrodes and corresponding electrical connections are mounted on the film after it has been applied by deposition of an aqueous plastic dispersion of said resin particles and silicate material. The silicates being present in the heating film in sufficient quantity to protect the heating film from attack by the starting reaction components of the polyurethane layer. The rigid layer may be a synthetic resin panel having a decorative heat irradiating surface.

  • Patent number: 4051094
Abstract: An electrically conductive lacquer adapted for use in heating elements is prepared by dispersing electrically conductive particles in an aqueous plastic dispersion in an aqueous silicate solution. Sodium or potassium silicate and an acrylic resin may be used in making the dispersion. The electrically conductive particles may be carbon or particles having a noble metal surface.

  • Patent number: 4022925
Abstract: A process is provided for coating metal surfaces with synthetic resins in which, prior to application of synthetic resin, said metal surfaces are irradiated with high energy rays in presence of at least one organic compound and/or of at least one organosilicon-oxygen compound (silicones) and only then is the metal surface coated with synthetic resin in the usual manner.
