  • Patent number: 5546876
Abstract: A sewing unit with a thread-guiding needle, with a lock stitch hook with a thread reserve, with a fabric holder that can be moved in any direction relative to the needle axis, and with a fabric presser foot with a needle passage opening, which can be placed on the fabric in cycle with the movement of the needle. Loop or twist stitches are formed in an area of the possible directions of movement of the fabric holder. To pull these stitches reliably into the fabric, the needle passage opening is asymmetrically widened beginning from the site of the needle passage, namely, elliptically beginning from a part semi-circularly surrounding the site of the needle passage in one design, and angularly with an arched limiting edge connecting the legs of the angle in another design.

  • Patent number: 5018460
Abstract: An embroidering machine with a mounting device for individual embroidery hoops is provided with a design in which each individual embroidery hoop is always mounted with the same holding force and is always brought into the correct position for the start of the embroidery process. To ensure the three-point mounting of the individual embroidery hoop, which consists of an inner hoop and an outer hoop surrounding it, with the fabric to be embroidered located between them, the mounting device comprises two opposite holders, one of which has two contact surfaces enclosing an angle for fitted support surfaces of the outer hoop, and the other holder having a bow spring with a depression for a projection arranged on the outer hoop on the bisector of the angle enclosed between the contact surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4644881
Abstract: An apparatus for securing and releasing an embroidery frame to a clamping rail comprises a connecting piece guide with a bore therethrough and a rod extending through the bore and extending along the clamping rail and guided in the bore for movement in the connecting piece guide bore. The rod carries a pressure piece which is movable with the rod. The clamping rail has a plurality of spaced apart embroidery frame pin receiving openings and embroidery frames are secured by inserting the pins of the frame into the openings. Each pin has a side with a cutout and each pin receiving opening has a fixed spacer plate adjacent the opening which carries a resilient holder which may be engaged in a cutout of the embroidery frame pin when it is inserted into the associated opening.

  • Patent number: 4444133
Abstract: A multi-head embroidering machine comprises a work carrier to which movements relative to the embroidering heads and corresponding to the embroidery pattern are imparted by a coordinate control device. The work carrier is provided with guide rails which can be engaged directly, through a clutch mechanism, to the output sides of the coordinate control device. Each clutch mechanism comprises at least one guide roller which is connected to the output side of the coordinate control device, and a back-up roller which is mounted on a coupling lever, with the two rollers engaging the respective guide rail of the work carrier from opposite sides. This makes it possible to exchange a work carrier for a new one in standby position outside the embroidering machine, in a simple way and within a shortest time.

  • Patent number: 4285289
Abstract: An embroidering machine comprises a plurality of embroidering head each equipped with a plurality of needles formed into a group each with its thread. A needle bar is engageable with one needle at a time in the group to bring the needle from a rest position thereof into an operating position. A presser foot mechanism with a presser foot attached cyclically moves the presser foot upwardly and downwardly from an upper dead center position to a lower dead center position. The presser foot is provided with a hole for the passage of the one needle. Thread cutting and holding devices are provided for cutting the thread of the one needle to form a thread end portion and hold the thread end portion. Upon the termination of an embroidering operation with the one needle, the presser foot mechanism is operable to move the presser foot substantially transversely to a longitudinal axis of the needles and, after the thread is cut, to lift the presser foot upwardly beyond its upper dead center position.
