By means of an operating means 33 arranged on the handle section 28 of the hand-held unit 12, two operating parameters, particularly the On/Off state and the jet pressure of the oral irrigating apparatus 10, can be varied.

A removable insert (16) having a number of compartments (18) is adapted to be fitted into the interior space (14). An element (20) is pivotal about a pivot axis (32) from a dust-guard position (22) to an open position (24). The element (20) is configured as a substantially plane case lid covering the interior space (14) in the dust-guard position (22). The element (20) and the insert (16) are in relative connection by means of a lever mechanism (30), with the lever mechanism (30) convertinig a pivoting motion of the element (20) into a lifting motion of the insert (16).

Abstract: An electric motor of a hair dryer has a stamped metal carrier serving for the preassembly of a diode bridge circuit and brushes and springs for the electric motor. The carrier, together with its preassembled components, can be mounted in an end shield of the electric motor, which end shield is provided, with suitable clearance spaces for this purpose. The entire assembly can then be easily slipped onto the commutator of the electric motor provided in the hair dryer housing.

Abstract: A blow dryer has a housing elongated along an axis and formed with a relatively large head and a slender handle. A two-part centrifugal fan having a hollow interior is mounted in the head and is driven by a motor mounted in the handle. A heater is provided inside the hollow fan. Rotation of the fan by the motor therefore draws air axially in at both ends of the housing, passes the air over the heater inside the fan, and expells the air laterally from the housing.
