  • Patent number: 8129921
Abstract: The invention introduces the concept of priorities into DALI technology. A switchgear (18) used to this end comprises two inputs (28, 22) to which a DALI bus (40, 38) can respectively be connected, and an output (24) to which another DALI bus (26) can be connected. A data processing unit (56) allocates priorities to the signals entering via the two inputs (28, 22) according to pre-determined criteria, and supplies the signals to the output according to their priority, through which they are then forwarded to electronic ballasts (14). The switchgear (18), especially the data processing unit (56), decides which instruction is carried out by means of the priority assignment in the event of collision conflicts between different instructions, for example central building control instructions and local control instructions.

  • Publication number: 20110037566
Abstract: A lighting control system comprising: at least two luminaires (12), a control unit (14) coupled to the at least two luminaires (12) by a communication link (16), by which control unit a respective illuminance of the at least two luminaires (12) can be varied, and comprising at least two sensors (18). Each of the at least two luminaires (12) is assigned at least one sensor (18). The at least two sensors (18) have a first sensitivity at which a first signal can be generated as a result of the sensor (18) being acted upon by a first parameter detectable by the sensor (18), and the respective illuminance can be set in a manner dependent on said first signal. Each of the at least two sensors (18) is adapted to generate an address, wherein the generated address of the respectively addressed sensor can be determined by the control unit (14).

  • Patent number: 7459661
Abstract: A sensor system has a video camera and an evaluation unit, the evaluation unit receiving a video signal from the video camera and providing output information relating to luminance and movement of an observation space. The evaluation unit can include a microcontroller that undertakes calculations in order to provide the output information. However, the sensor system can be included in a light control system. A method for controlling an artificial light component of controllable light sources via a light control system includes: picking up a video signal, relaying the video signal to the input of the evaluation unit, evaluating the video signal with reference to luminance and movement in the evaluation unit, outputting the information relating to luminance and movement at the output of the evaluation unit to a control unit and setting a desired brightness of the controllable light sources via the control unit.

  • Patent number: 6975214
Abstract: The invention relates to a supply unit (1) and method for detecting the identity of and for supplying power to LED units (2). The supply unit (1) firstly determines, by means of a detection unit (7), the identity of a connected LED unit (2) by the application of an electrical quantity and reception of a further electrical quantity generated in response thereto by an identification unit (3). By means of a control unit (6), the power supply required for the LED unit (2) can subsequently be determined using the identity determined and said power supply can be output to the LED unit (2) via an output unit (5). In this case, both the detection of the identity and the power supply are effected via the supply terminals (4a, 4b).

  • Patent number: 4933564
Abstract: A method of determining radiation doses by evaluation of nuclear tracks in an irradiated foil of track recording material through the use of an electrochemical etching cell which is subdivided into two chambers by the foil with the irradiated side of the foil contacted by a mixture of an etchant and a solvent and the opposite side of the foil contacted by an electrolyte and with a first electrode immersed into the mixture and a second immersed into the electrolyte, the method including the steps of: (a) applying an alternating voltage across the two electrodes establishing an electric field through the foil; (b) etching the nuclear tracks by selective exposure to the mixture for a given period of time in the presence of the electric field; (c) continuously recording the electrical capacitance between the electrodes during the performance of step (b); and (d) comparing the electrical capacitance reached after a given etching time with a calibrated value for obtaining a measure for the radiation dose.
