  • Patent number: 9643744
Abstract: A method for packing tubes or cans is proposed which arrive continuously from a production line and are taken over by a transport unit by means of a grouping unit. The transport unit transports the tubes or cans in a desired formation into a retaining hoop of a strapping unit, wherein the retaining hoop is able to grip the formation in a pincer-like movement, whereupon the formation is strapped using a plastic band and transported further. The transport is achieved by means of two spike plates which are used alternately.

  • Patent number: 7308779
Abstract: Tubes (T), coming from a production line, are supplied by means of a grouping unit (1). The grouping unit comprises a conveyor belt (10), with product holders (11) and the tubes are supplied in groups by means of a stepping motor (12). A slider (13) pushes the tubes (T) into the correct position on a mandrel support (20) of a packaging unit (2). The mandrel support (20) comprises a plate (21), which may be moved back and forth by means of a piston/cylinder unit (22) and which may be pivoted from the horizontal holding position into the vertical dispensing position. The tubes are pushed onto mandrels (25) which are mounted on the plate (21), by means of the slider (13), The tubes are thus held in exact alignment and can be filled into the carton (B) without a relative displacement or tilting of the tubes.

  • Patent number: 6109003
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the fixed combination of side-fold bags to form stacks. The side-fold bags to be combined, arriving from a machine which produces side-fold bags, are previously separated into stacks of a controlled quantity. During combining, each stack is oriented in relation to a perforating station, pressed together and punched with at least two through-holes. Each stack is interlockingly bundled by at least one intermediate fixation element, which is force-lockingly closed to form a loop, for the purpose of being further used in an automatic goods packing machine, where each stack is fixedly held in a packaging station by a fixing element in the shape of a hoop, which penetrates through the holes, wherein the intermediate fixation element is removed.

  • Patent number: 5862649
Abstract: A method and apparatus for packaging cans or tubes which arrive from a conveying station and which are placed into a packaging fixture. The cans are moved in the packaging fixture to a packaging station and are together removed from the packaging fixture in the form of a dense package and are provided with common packaging. The cans are then passed on to the next following processing station. Using interchangeable packaging modules, the cans or tubes are selectively filled into a box or are provided with a hoop. In the process, the packaging material is brought to the packaging station in a delivery plane which extends vertically with respect to a direction of delivery of the cans or tubes from out of the packaging fixture. The box to be filled is delivered by a box carrier which is movable in the delivery plane, to the packaging station, and is there taken over by a suction gripper.

  • Patent number: 5704195
Abstract: A method for packaging cans or tubes continuously delivered from a production installation to pick-up elements, which are moved in steps, of an intermediate station. A gripper device brings the cans or tubes in groups according to the desired number of pieces in a packaging layer to a delivery station. Each can or tube is deposited into a support element, after which the cans or tubes are pushed together out of the support elements into a loading station. The cans or tubes are placed at equal distances into the pick-up elements, wherein individual support elements are placed apart from each other at a predetermined distance. The cans or tubes are then deposited into the support elements at distances predetermined by the pick-up elements. The support elements are subsequently moved together until they touch each other, whereupon the cans or tubes are then pushed into the loading station. This method allows the use of the same apparatus for different can diameters with minimal changing effort.

  • Patent number: 5339606
Abstract: A method for discontinuous delivery of products, such as tubes or capsules supplied continuously by a production facility to a delivery station of a machine. A box-filling installation, for example, is located at the delivery station. The machine has two carriages guided along the same path. While the first carriage which is moved in steps is loaded at the transfer station, the second carriage is already at the delivery station, where it is unloaded and subsequently rapidly moved on until it again abuts the carriage. Thus, loading of the carriages at the transfer station can take place continuously. So that the carriages can perform the movement cycles, such as step-by-step movement, driving, stopping, rapidly moving on until connection with the other carriage, independently of each other, an individual drive is provided for each one of the two carriages.

  • Patent number: 5134789
Abstract: The invention relates to an installation for the wet and/or dry treatment, such as washing, dyeing, bleaching, steaming, drying, finishing and/or sizing of a web, yarn, strand or filiform textile goods with a carrier supporting the textile goods, consisting of several rollers, on which the textile goods are guided as an endlessly running band and with at least one or several treatment unit(s), wherein the carrier with the textile goods can travel in any desired succession. The dimensions of the rollers basically correspond to the ones of rollers in industrial installations, but can be reduced when the installation has to operate under lab-test conditions. Compared to industrial installations, this installation has an extremely compact construction.

  • Patent number: 5060454
Abstract: Cylindrical-shaped objects coming from a conveyor belt of a production line are transferred to a compensator. The compensator continuously receives the manufactured cylindrical-shaped objects and transfers them intermittently. Transfer of the cylindrical-shaped objects is made to a carriage guided on rails. A plate with compartments is disposed on the carriage. A quantity of cylindrical-shaped objects corresponding to a layer in a box are placed on the carriage. The carriage is moved in steps by means of a spindle by a step motor. Once the plate on the carriage is filled, the carriage is moved to the side and all the cylindrical-shaped objects lying on it are pushed into the waiting box by a cross slide. Subsequently, the carriage returns to its initial position. This method and apparatus permit extraordinary cycle times, assure gently treatment of the cylindrical-shaped objects and are very adaptable.

  • Patent number: 4738078
Abstract: The package to be wrapped is moved during a first step towards a foil section which is extended under tension transversely relative to the direction of movement of the package. During a further course of movement of the package the aforementioned foil section is applied to three sides around the package in a substantially U-shape. Subsequently, a loop is formed from the web-like foil by entraining means which act on the web-like foil. The two runs of the loop are releasably held at their ends by related holding means. These two loop runs of the foil are separated from each other using a cutting knife. The foil section thus produced, which runs along the rear side of the package, has a length which is greater than the height of the package. An end section of this foil section of greater length and which protrudes past the package is now displaced towards and against the underside of the package.

  • Patent number: 4476173
Abstract: A joint between two textile materials in web form, one of them preferably being a plurality of parallel yarns forming a monolayer or multilayer sheet, and the other one a fabric. The joint is an adhesive or heat sealed bonding member which is equipped at least on one of its surfaces with a heat shield. The joint is flexible, thin, tear and heat resistant, not attacked by chemical reagents, solvents or vapors. It can be formed in a novel apparatus for heat sealing by means of heat sealable strips which are reinforced by heat resistant materials and which are heat sealed together across the yarn sheet.

  • Patent number: 4339116
Abstract: A clamping apparatus includes jaws carried by a frame and movable toward each other to center and engage a workpiece by a lever and linkage arrangement which operates quickly. The workpiece is then firmly clamped by a rope which extends from the frame around the workpiece at least 360.degree. and through a gripping device. The gripping device is urged toward the gripping position by a spring.

  • Patent number: 3942298
Abstract: An annular object is disposed between upper and lower thermally fusible thermoplastic foils which are pushed together and cut away in an annular weld seam by a pair of tool halves brought vertically together in the central opening of the object. The lower tool half fits between a pair of spaced-apart transport bands which serve to carry the packaged object away after its center is cut out. The object can be supported above the bands on a fork so that the two tool halves can be brought together at a plane in the middle of the thickness of the object. If the object rests on the bands, the upper foil is deformed downwardly to the level of the undeflected bottom foil so that the lower foil is not deformed and ripped.
