  • Patent number: 6611994
Abstract: The present invention relates to the application of fiber length measurement in the blowroom or carding room of a spinning mill. A method and an apparatus in a textile processing machine are described in which before and/or after a working element of the textile processing machine the nep count and/or the fiber length (staple) is determined, with an open-loop/closed-loop control unit being provided which receives the values for the fiber length and/or the nep count as input and determines therefrom the optimized machine setting data and outputs the same to at least one actuator of a working element which influences the nep count and/or the staple of the textile processing machine.

  • Patent number: 6499194
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling the draft of a fiber mixture (e.g. a sliver) of a textile machine, with sensors being provided which detect the fluctuations in mass of the fiber mixture which is supplied to a drafting arrangement unit including at least one changeable drafting zone which compensates the fluctuations in mass. A delay time is provided in order to take into account the running time of the fiber mixture from the measuring sensor up to a control application point. A method is therefore proposed whereby, for the purpose of changing certain control parameters, the delivery speed of the fiber mixture and/or the comparison of the measured progress of the mass of the fiber material supplied by the drafting arrangement unit with a predetermined setpoint progress of mass (setpoint) are used.

  • Patent number: 6477734
Abstract: In a fiber-processing machine with a separating edge, in which both fibers as well as air are guided past the edge in a substantially predetermined conveying direction, air layers loaded with dirt particles or waste are deflected by means of the edge from the stream of fibers/air. The removal of dirt is aided at first by means of blast air.

  • Publication number: 20020152583
Abstract: The present invention relates to the application of fiber length measurement in the blowroom or carding room of a spinning mill. A method and an apparatus in a textile processing machine are described and claimed in which before and/or after a working element of the textile processing machine the nep count and/or the fiber length (staple) is determined, with an open-loop/closed-loop control unit being provided which receives the said values for the fiber length and/or the nep count as input values and determines therefrom the optimized machine setting data and outputs the same to at least one actuator of a working element which influences the nep count and/or the staple of the textile processing machine.

  • Publication number: 20020152585
Abstract: A device for adjusting the work gap between the points of the flat clothings and the points of the cylinder clothing of a card, whereby the flat bars being furnished with clothings are led over a partial area of the drum circumference on both sides of the card on sliding surfaces which are being provided with respective convex bent sliding guides, whereby the flat bars are being provided with flat heads, furnished with sliding surfaces, which slide alongside the sliding guides, the sliding guides each are being formed by a bent part and the radial position of the sliding surfaces of the sliding guides in relation to the axis of rotation of the drum is changeable by changing the local position of the parts is characterized in that those parts, each forming the sliding guides, are supported at several discrete supporting points and are shiftably arranged in relation to the supporting points, around the axis of rotation of the drum, whereby the sliding surfaces of the sliding guides, for adjusting the work gap,

  • Publication number: 20020088093
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for adjusting the working gap between the points of the flat clothings and the points of the cylinder clothings of a carding machine, with the flat rods provided with clothings being guided over a partial zone of the cylinder circumference on either side of the carding machine on respective convexly arched sliding guides, and the flat rods are provided with flat heads comprising sliding surfaces, which flat heads slide along the sliding guides, is characterized in that the adjustment of the working gap is performed by changing the radial height of the sliding surfaces of the flat heads with respect to the points of the respective flat clothing.

  • Publication number: 20020069486
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for adjusting the work gap between the points of flat clothings and the points of the cylinder clothing of a card, whereby the flat bars provided with clothings are led across a partial area of the drum circumference on both sides of the card on respective, convex bent sliding guides, and whereby their sliding surfaces with regard to the drum axis of rotation are being radially adjustable. Each sliding guide has the form of a sandwich type design with a radially inner support which can also be divided into individual supporting sections, and into a radially outer, continuous flex bend, whereby between the flex bend and the radially inner support a centre core is provided which is provided with one or several adjusting elements.

  • Publication number: 20020042972
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus in a carding machine in which a controllable means is present which can influence the transfer factor of the carding machine. The transfer factor indicates how many percent of the fiber mass present on the swift is transferred to the doffer during each rotation of the swift.
