  • Patent number: 11863862
Abstract: A display device (100) obtains (S210) an image, obtains (S220) a current measure of inclination of a screen (110) of the display device (100), rotates (S230) the image to compensate for the inclination to render the image parallel with the horizon, scales (S240) and displays (S250) the image entire and horizontally on the screen. The image can be part of a video for which other images are processed to be displayed horizontally. The image can be scaled to maximise the size of the image when displayed on the screen (110); this can be performed after a period of unchanged inclination.

  • Patent number: 11792487
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for controlling the volume of a content. In one embodiment, sound associated with a content is received as well as a request for a volume change associated with the content. An equalization ratio is then obtained based on an amplification and a compression parameter. It is then analyzed whether a volume change will cause a coordinate change in the amplifier or compression levels associated with the content. If a volume change will cause a coordinate change in the amplifier or compression levels associated with the content, the volume change is limited.

  • Patent number: 11695981
Abstract: An electronic program guide, EPG, comprises a first portion and a second portion. The first portion comprises a list of channels and, for each channel in the list, a list of scheduled audiovisual content. The second portion comprises a selection area or section and a first graphical element representing a time line. The selection section may be used to select scheduled audiovisual content according to a selection criterion. Second graphical elements that represent scheduled audio visual content resulting from the selection are then placed on the first graphical element. The relative position of the second graphical elements on the first graphical element is determined by chronological order.

  • Patent number: 11176866
Abstract: An object of the invention is to avoid or at least limit the aforementioned drawback by a specific processing of video images to display, notably on large size screens. For this purpose, a method for processing at least one image of a video sequence is described. The method includes defining at least two peripheral areas PL, PR in the at least one image, and reducing contrast of pixels in the defined peripheral area(s) having a local contrast RL and/or RD above a local contrast threshold Rth or reducing contrast of pixels in subregions 1, 2, . . . , i, . . . , N of these defined peripheral areas having a local contrast Ri, R?i above a local contrast threshold Ri-th.

  • Publication number: 20190354346
Abstract: A processor in an apparatus having a plurality of audio output interfaces receives volume commands from a control interface configured to receive commands from a control device comprising at least one volume button enabling two input possibilities. Until a selection of an audio output interface has been validated a volume button command received causes selection of an audio output interface. Upon validation of the selection of the audio output interface, the processor modifies an output audio volume for the validated audio output interface in accordance with received volume commands. A first received volume command can cause the processor to display selectable audio outputs.

  • Publication number: 20190306579
Abstract: A first interface of a device receives content from a further device, at least one hardware processor analyses the content to find active elements that will be visible on a screen when displayed, generates a page by overlaying a first part of the content that will be visible on the screen when displayed with graphic elements respectively corresponding to found active elements, sends the page to a third interface for display on the screen and activates a corresponding active element upon reception, via a second interface from a user input device, of a command comprising an identifier displayed in a graphic element. In case the identifier corresponds to a graphic element associated with a group comprising a plurality of active elements, graphic elements corresponding to each active element in the group are overlaid over the first image.

  • Patent number: 9043701
Abstract: During reproduction of an audio or audiovisual document, a document is read from a recording medium. The audio or audiovisual content of the non impaired sequences, which represent sequences of the document which are not defective, are fully recorded. Impaired sequences of the document, which are defective sequences of the document are not recorded, but are represented by an identifier and information corresponding to the duration of the impaired sequences. The recorded sequences are then reproduced and a graphics menu representing the content of the document is displayed. The menu indicates the location of the impaired sequences with respect to the non impaired sequences and the duration of the impaired sequences.

  • Patent number: 8640050
Abstract: A method enables selecting items from a list, as well as functions associated with these items and with the list in general. Each item is identified by an icon displayed in a series of icons. A first command enables the item to be selected and a second command enables it to be activated. The series of icons comprises at least one additional icon. The user selects this additional icon, then at the end of a certain time a sub-menu appears presenting all the functions selectable via the second command. With the second command, the user can execute functions that apply to the list of items and no longer to a single item. Also provided is a device capable of executing the method of selection and executing an item and a function.

  • Patent number: 7701378
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of validating a number comprising a plurality of digits, the number having a maximum value, each digit being successively entered by a user during several stages. The method includes a test stage activated when the number of digits entered is equal to that of the maximum value minus a unit. This test consists in comparing the most significant digit entered with the most significant digit of the maximum value. The test validates the set of digits entered when the most significant digit entered is greater than the most significant digit of the maximum value. The invention also relates to a device capable of implementing the method.

  • Publication number: 20070067328
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for navigating in a list of items in an audiovisual receiver including a first step for generating an ordered list of items available in the receiver, a step for displaying a first sub-list extracted from the list including a first item highlighted at one end of the displayed sub-list. The method also includes a step for identifying a second item adjacent to the first item not appearing in the first sub-list, and a step for displaying a second sub-list including at least the first item and the second highlighted item. In one improvement to the present invention, the displayed items are digital television service identifiers. In one variant, these items are identifiers of events broadcast by a television network. The invention also relates to the receiver capable of selecting the services according to the method.
