The image can be scaled to maximise the size of the image when displayed on the screen (110); this can be performed after a period of unchanged inclination.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for controlling the volume of a content. In one embodiment, sound associated with a content is received as well as a request for a volume change associated with the content. An equalization ratio is then obtained based on an amplification and a compression parameter. It is then analyzed whether a volume change will cause a coordinate change in the amplifier or compression levels associated with the content. If a volume change will cause a coordinate change in the amplifier or compression levels associated with the content, the volume change is limited.

Abstract: An electronic program guide, EPG, comprises a first portion and a second portion. The first portion comprises a list of channels and, for each channel in the list, a list of scheduled audiovisual content. The second portion comprises a selection area or section and a first graphical element representing a time line. The selection section may be used to select scheduled audiovisual content according to a selection criterion. Second graphical elements that represent scheduled audio visual content resulting from the selection are then placed on the first graphical element. The relative position of the second graphical elements on the first graphical element is determined by chronological order.

The second portion comprises a selection area or section and a first graphical element representing a time line. The selection section may be used to select scheduled audiovisual content according to a selection criterion. Second graphical elements that represent scheduled audio visual content resulting from the selection are then placed on the first graphical element. The relative position of the second graphical elements on the first graphical element is determined by chronological order.

The audio or audiovisual content of the non impaired sequences, which represent sequences of the document which are not defective, are fully recorded. Impaired sequences of the document, which are defective sequences of the document are not recorded, but are represented by an identifier and information corresponding to the duration of the impaired sequences. The recorded sequences are then reproduced and a graphics menu representing the content of the document is displayed. The menu indicates the location of the impaired sequences with respect to the non impaired sequences and the duration of the impaired sequences.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for navigating in a list of items in an audiovisual receiver including a first step for generating an ordered list of items available in the receiver, a step for displaying a first sub-list extracted from the list including a first item highlighted at one end of the displayed sub-list. The method also includes a step for identifying a second item adjacent to the first item not appearing in the first sub-list, and a step for displaying a second sub-list including at least the first item and the second highlighted item. In one improvement to the present invention, the displayed items are digital television service identifiers. In one variant, these items are identifiers of events broadcast by a television network. The invention also relates to the receiver capable of selecting the services according to the method.
